Ultimate Hit and Run (Lots of big pics...)

I snatched this from:HERE

This is just insane....Let me know if its old and lame.
Quote:

I bought a car yesterday! Then, I drove home and parked right outside
my apartment. Later, I decided to go grocery shopping.

When I returned, to my dismay, someone had taken my parking spot.

Begrudgingly, I parked somewhere else.

Then, around 2:00 AM, I was awoken by a loud rumbling sound, followed
by a crash. It happened again, and again, and again...

I went outside, and this is what I found...
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/1.jpg
Mission Boulevard was flooding...
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/2.jpg
...a fire hydrant had been knocked over.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/3.jpg
Further down the street, I saw this car.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/4.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/5.jpg
And a big mess in front of this flower shop.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/6.jpg
On the same street, I saw this car with the rear windshield resting on the trunk.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/7.jpg
I followed the damage onto Bayard St., where I live.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/8.jpg
I saw this car about 15 feet behind my apartment.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/9.jpg
The car looked like it had been rammed several times.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/10.jpg
This tire was on the ground; I think it was from the driver's car.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/11.jpg
From here started a deep groove cut into the ground. The driver was on his rim.

I followed the trail.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/12.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/13.jpg
This is my apartment. I had parked here earlier.

The white car that had taken my spot was gone.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/14.jpg
As was the red car in front of it.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/15.jpg
I found them both in my neighbor's driveway
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/16.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/17.jpg
This was the car that had been in my parking spot.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/18.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/19.jpg
I followed the trail down Bayard St. It smelled like gasoline.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/20.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/21.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/23.jpg
Next, I went down Tourmaline street. All of these cars were hit, and there was
a line from the driver's rim running by each car.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/24.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/25.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/26.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/27.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/28.jpg
I followed through these barriers downhill
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/29.jpg
I finally found the car responsible for all of this.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/30.jpg

http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/32.jpg
I found out later that the hole in his windshield was from his DOG that had
been in the passenger seat. We couldn't find it after the accident.
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/33.jpg
http://paul.hillman.net/cars_files_small/34.jpg

The verdict?

One fire hydrant, one flower shop, one dog, and nineteen cars, not
including his own (I omitted pictures of four cars with minor damage).

The driver, I found out later, was drunk, from Texas, and had only one arm.

At this point, I tried to go back to sleep.

Munku 06-17-2004 09:15 PM

Holy shit that's a lot of damage! Man I'd be extremely pissed if that was my car in there...

kinsaj 06-17-2004 09:25 PM

...WHOA

People need to figure out that driving just doesnt work when ur drunk.

todd 06-17-2004 09:44 PM

Holy shit! Thats one of the most insane things i've seen recently

nanofever 06-17-2004 09:47 PM

Sure is going to be hard to fend-off Bubba in the state pen with one arm.

/one ticket please, aisle.

H12 06-17-2004 09:58 PM

Holy shit dude, that's awful. I'm glad he got caught. Now, someone has "gotten away" with drunk driving and crashing in my town tonight; some stupid guy decided it'd be smart to crash into a light pole since his truck's dirty, so he did. From what I hear, it obviously messed up his truck really bad, so he drove off with his girlfriend and the cops never did catch him tonight. I think time'll change that for him though, from the way people've been talking about it.

StormBerlin 06-17-2004 09:59 PM

Holy freaking shit. Wonder what happened to the doggy :(

I would be pissed if that were me. I bet the guys glad he didn't park there after all.

That was my only concern, too. Stupid fucking drunk drivers.

Church 06-17-2004 10:27 PM

That was pretty crazy man, damn. My jaw was pretty much on the floor the farther I got into the pictures. It looks like Superman and Spiderman got in a fight or something. :\

Karby 06-17-2004 10:32 PM

i think it's safe to say that the poor dog didn't make it. :(

BuDDaH 06-17-2004 10:35 PM

Like they say in Texas:
He needs killin'.....

RoboBlaster 06-17-2004 10:38 PM

That is beyond drunk.

Kewpie Dan 06-17-2004 10:55 PM

19 cars eh? i guess he couldn't have gone for the even 20...

MSD 06-17-2004 10:59 PM

Those dull thuds you just heard were the sound of every insurance agent in town hitting the floor after each suffered a massive heart attack.

dirtyrascal7 06-17-2004 11:19 PM

sometimes i like to go on rampages like this... only i do it in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Stare At The Sun 06-18-2004 12:09 AM

That's freaking insane. What a jackass for messing up the dog, but man, that's atleast a 10,000 point run. :D

ObieX 06-18-2004 12:17 AM

I guess alcohol hits you harder when you're missing limbs. Was expecting more damage on the driver's car.

Hope the guy gets extra jail time for what happened to the dog.

bermuDa 06-18-2004 12:19 AM

that's the most incredible real life hit and run incident, that guy really went for broke!!!

I wonder what kind of fine/jailtime he faces for all that.

Hrothgar 06-18-2004 01:02 AM

Good thing you went grocery shopping.

smiling_bob 06-18-2004 01:23 AM

As I was reading through the story and looking at the pics I figured the vehicle used for the rampage must have been stolen by some 16 year old punks and just used to smash everything. But I guess drunk drivers can be just as stupid.

KellyC 06-18-2004 02:05 AM

that guy deserves some serious jail time...

that's what I'm thinking too,

it helps not seeing the dog's pic, I might be even more pissed off/upset if I see what condition the dog would be in...

fatboss 06-18-2004 02:15 AM

That was some great footage and commentary Man!

You're not a journo are you? If not, you've got a second career right in front of you. :)

TheBrit 06-18-2004 02:39 AM

fatboss, TopRamen66 didn't write that, he quoted it.
All I can say is that it seems a Chevy is pretty strong...

BEG4MERCY 06-18-2004 07:19 AM

That wasn't a hit and run.

It was a hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and hit and stop.

kutulu 06-18-2004 09:07 AM

You were really lucky that the guy took your spot. He got what he deserved.

Rdr4evr 06-18-2004 09:33 AM

Lucky that asshole didnt kill anyone.

All drunk drivers should get the death penalty.

Exactly what I thought. Joy riders. Gotta give it up for those Chevy trucks, though. Like a frickin' rock!

phyzix525 06-18-2004 07:26 PM

Yikes! That was awesome, and even better was your commentary. Thanks for sharing. <3

frozenstellar 06-19-2004 06:54 AM

well i'm relieved to see it was only one fire hydrant, one flower shop, one dog, and nineteen cars, and not a human.

how i wish i was in charge of punishing drunk drivers.

SinisterMotives 06-19-2004 07:19 AM

This guy could end up being the world's first drunk driver to get slapped with a class action lawsuit.

Hanxter 06-19-2004 07:42 AM

COOOOOOOL!!!

Redjake 06-19-2004 08:15 AM

this guy redefined the genre

Esoteric 06-19-2004 09:11 AM

Holy shit, that is a lot of cars. Good thing they caught him.
