breakdancing

hey all, I wasn't sure what board this would go under, so I just went general.

Anyway, I want to learn to breakdance - I found this really good site that had great lessons and tutorials posted sticky format to their forums, but I can't find it now.

I wanted to know if anyone here knows of that site or any other good breaking sites with tutorials? I'm basically a novice except for my athletic abilities

there's a vin diesel video clip out there where he shows you how to break dance. look for it on google or something. I studied that video for a long time, and now when I try to break dance in front of a crowd, I look like a fatass breakdancing, instead of a fatass TRYING to breakdance.

When I was in highschool I used to break a bit. I could pull a decent headspin and a 1990, my footwork sucked though. I learned mostly by chilling at raves in the jungle and hip-hop rooms. If you want to get into breaking read up on moves and practice your balancing skills (headstand, handstand). Be prepared to get hurt bad because even pro's biff it hard at times. It takes a lot of effort to pull of the more difficult moves like the windmills, headspins, and poses. Once you get past the second rotation its all downhill but be prepared to spend a couple months to get there.

My brother is into that stuff, I think it's goofy, but he sure is strong now though.

Lots of physical exercise, and doing a one handed handstand while balancing on your head is something else!!

I've always wanted to learn also. Not so much for the insane 'twirling on head' stuff, but all of the regular, stylish moves. Not sure how to explain it. I just really like the robotish look of a lot of the non-acrobactic moves.

i never learned to breakdance, but being filipino, half of my cousins tried to pick it up.

according to them, the best way to learn is to go to where the breakers are and just watch and talk to them. most are more than willing to help our and seeing it first hand beats anything you could get over the internet...
