Stupid Ebay Questions...
Has anyone ever put anything on Ebay and gotten dumb people asking dumb questions?
Example (for an Item in an online auction): Quote:

That question might be understandable if you have it auctioned with a "Buy It Now" option. Sometimes buyers will talk with the seller and get them to end it early if they pay them and things like that -- if there isn't a "Buy It Now."
|
They might also ask if you have a reserve set. If your reserve is higher than they're willing to possibly bid, they know not to waste their time watching.
|
No, it is neither a buy it now option NOR is there a hidden reserve. I don't know I just think that there are a lot of stupid people on Ebay.

a while back, I listed a Nordic Trak that I wanted to get rid of. Was just collecting dust. It's got an computer thing that registers heart rate and all that, it worked before I took the batteries out, so I imagine it still works. I also clearly posted that there was no way I was going to ship the thing, you wanted it, you had to come get it. (I was selling it for like 25 bucks)
I had more people ask me why I wouldn't ship it? (the answer that shipping costs more than what it's worth was foreighn to them) . Then I got several questions about how did I know the skieer worked if there were no batteries in it -- Yo dumbass, the batteries are for the computer part only. I'd rather thow stuff out than deal with the brain trust on Ebay. |
Im not sure this stupidity is relegated only to eBay... Look around you, there are a *lot* of people out there who just dont seem to turn on their brains.

What was the topic again?

I was selling somehting on Amazon.com, and I got an email begging me to sell it for a lower price off the site because "I'm poor and I really need it"

on a serious note... if a person asks you how much you want for it and if you're willing to cancel the auction and sell it to them off ebay, tell them to fuck off... it's best to go through with the auction so you can leave bad feedback if they screw you. also, don't ever pay for something using western union... especially if the person you're dealing with lives in a different country. they may have good or even great feedback, but it's likely they're using a hijacked account. |
I was selling an MP3 CD player and was asked if it played CD's too.

I've sold a couple of things through eBay, but the most classic thing i've seen is someone selling something and charging huge amounts of shipping, but refusing to let the buyer come and pick it up from across town, i suppose you can make tidy profits off P&P. |
