Where to move?
I don't want to live in America. Where should I move? I'm looking for somewhere warm, free, little crime, no violence, somewhere I don't have to work 40 hours a week, somewhere I don't need to own a car, and I can live in a teepee, but I can still get books and medicine, somewhere people don't take things so seriously, somewhere that doesn't outlaw drugs, genital piercing, and gay marrige.

Downtown Vancouver B.C. Canada
Gay marrige, check genital piercing, the norm warm, most days no car, no problem medicine, taken care of and free hospitals etc. Drugs, out in the open and sort of taken for granted Work, nope you can jump on the dole a teepee, I guess so I don't know about the zoneing laws but it shouldn't be a problem. |

This is strange, but you all have pretty much said move to Canada, but when i go up there to deliver, the people i talk to say they wish they could move down to the US. They are tired of the way Canada is run. I guess you really can't judge a place til you stay there and see how good or bad thing's are. Seems like a lot of people want to live anywhere but where they are.

grass is greener syndrome.
i've living in Singapore, it's nice.. but it's a city.. you need to be an earner... I'd move back there. I want to live in Iceland. It's cold, but you need to also be an earner because it's expensive. I live in NYC because everyone has their little slice of what they associate with...

Yo - Don't get me wrong. My country is acting really stupid right now, but I'm not going anywhere...not even Canada. I figure it is my DUTY to stay here and help put things back on track.
I'm gonna write letters, speak my mind, make donations and vote! If the grass is greener over the border, stay here and do some yard-work.

i'd recommend a nice part of Sydney.
it has most of those things listed. not much crime. not much violence. great weather all year round (provided you can put up with a stinking hot feb). great beaches. in Australia no one ever works a 40 hour week... thats against our culture. our medicare system is not fantastic, but if you get here quick, you should enjoy it a little before the current conservative gov't makes it as poor as the American system. nothing is ever taken seriously here... that is also against our culture. genital piercing is not unusual. but, gay marriage is not available, yet. but hey, Sydney is one of the biggest (if not the) gay capitals in the world. also, sadly, drugs are banned... but not hard to find. looking back on my list here, i'm changing my mind... go to BC... i would.

I fell in love with Vienna, Austria the one time I was there, and I'd love to live there myself. It was the cleanist and friendliest big city I've ever been too. Not to mention the incredibly good public transporation. I've always been a fan of Canada too.

It's not that I want to be married gayly, or do drugs, or get my genitals pierced. It's that I don't want to live in a place that takes people lives away from them for doing things that don't harm anyone else, or won't allow gay marrige because of homophobia. If the founding fathers were writing the constitution today, I guarantee they would give everyone the right to do drugs and get genitals pierced. It makes me sick how just because certain rights aren't given in the contitution people think that they can just take them away from people. I want to live somewhere simple.

BC for god's sake! They have top notch weed
Yeah, with the way my government is running the country (Liberals bitchin they lost the election, Liberals bitchin they won the election, Reformers bitching they lost the party, NDP bitchin they're drunk, Alliance bitchin that they want to merge with conseratives, Conseratives bitchin they don't want to merge with Alliance) You know, family feud kind of thing. Makes me want to move to USA where there's only 2 name on a federal election ballot

I know a couple years back they were offering homestead property up in Northern Minnesota. Worst part about living there is the mosquitos. Not too bad cold I don't think. Also up here in northern Wis people are pretty laid back. Gay marriages aren't a thing around here but I haven't heard that much negativity about them. Genital piercings aren't illegal - I plan to get one eventually (soon maybe even). I don't really need a car except when I've got multiple kids to tote around. If it's just me I can bicycle anywhere in town in a timely manner. I work from home and make as much as hubby working 40 hrs a week. Crime is low. We have no gangs in town that I know of. Not publicly anyway. Beer is plentiful as well. More than 20 bars within 10 minutes of town or in town - in a town of 10,000. Hospital and pharmacies in town and a library where I can get any book I want.
