Hounding the Mailbox
 

Don't you just HATE it when you're waiting for something to come to basically determine your entire professional future, and it just won't come!??!?

It's that time of year again where most junior/senior college students are applying for those coveted PAID summer internships in various places. Now if only the silly envelope would get here with my name on it so I can get on with my life.

*Walks out to the mailbox, still no mail*

Anybody else anxiously waiting something?

I'm like that with e-mail. I think outlook is open about 200 times a day on the laptop.

I don't do it for the regular mail. But when I order something that's coming UPS or FedEx I'm refreshing that tracking window every 20 minutes. And once I see out for delivery I'm looking out the window everytime I hear a truck coming.

You should talk to Old Roberta Sparrow. She knows all about that. ;)

I am waiting for my pay raise. It's been 3 years overdue.....

Man, and I thought my 2 years was bad enough...

nope. i let it all collect in the mailbox, my wife hates it, and so does the post man.

I myself am waiting for word on Grad School. I am a wreck right now.

I've been like that waiting on word about jobs. Looking forward to getting a letter, but dreading it as well, since it hasn't been good news each time.

Not quite the same, but there was a webpage where the bar exam pass list was posted as soon as it was official. I spent the better part of a week getting nothing done, just refreshing it. There was a counter with the number of page views, and you could tell that there were lots of people doing exactly the same thing.
