Not trying to play the devils advocate but isn't the ad doing EXACTLY what it's supposed to in that EVERYONE on here is talking about it? How many people today have thought about and had a discussion on 'ABC building', or 'Green trees anonymous'? Probably noone. Yes i've seen the ad now and it is quite different. But in my opinion the fact that 'QUIZNOS' is on peoples minds has got to be the whole intention from them!

Neither I nor my lovely fiance' will ever eat at Quiznos again. That ad totally creeped us out. I work in television advertising as a writer/producer and I don't get it. I really don't get it. Sure it makes you remember the ad and the name of the business but not in a "Wow, I'm really hungry and am salivating for a Quiznos sub" kind of way, its more of a "I'm disgusted and irritated" sort of way. Weird, really weird.

I seem to be in the minority here, but the commercial is one of the few on tv right now that doesn't just piss me off.
Me and my friends love it.

All I have to say is I felt my IQ was lowered by being subjected to that commercial. Lucky for me, I go to the local sub shop religiously, and not the franchised places. So Quizno's can stay far far away from my money.

Weird but funny enought to make you want to listen to the words and look at the little rats... I'm seeing it more and more during prime time, so it must be effective.
Personally, I like it...

OK. I really hate that ad as much as anybody. But you have to admit. An ad's job is to get and hold your attention. And this one does that in spades.
Granted. It does not entice me to eat there. But it sure got my (And from the responses I see here, Yours too) attention.

I think the gerbil hamster guinea pig things are scary as crap, but they've definitely got my attention. I'm not gonna forget this commercial for a while. It's quite fun trying to imitate the voices.

Those things are called SpongeMonkeys, there was a article on MSN yesterday that talked about this fucking things.
Personally, I think they are something made up by a guy/gal who had too many bad acid flashbacks and decided to put it down. My wife and I are sick and tired of these commericals, its just unreal. And seeing these things, don't make me want to buy a sub. V.

I'm sick of those commercials, don't understand them, and no one guy who likes them. He's just an acquaintance, not a friend.

I absolutely HATE that commercial! It is the most annoying TV advertisement out there right now in my opinion! It comes on and the channel gets changed or the mute goes on.
But, as said above...it sticks in your head. My SO said I'll remember it BECAUSE I hate it so bad and that is what they want.

AT first I was like WTF, then I was annoyed, now I am starting to become addicted to gerbil commercials. The commercials are very effective in making you remember Quizno's, but like many other people have said, the commericals don't actually make you desire their product.

I think the ads main focus was to generate excitement and press. Just look at how many people remember this ad and are talking about it.
"There is no such thing as bad press." Whether you like it or not, you now know about quizno's subs. |

I have been told these things are "British monkeys". I'm not sure exactly what that means, but the owner told me such. I think they look like a cross between a nuclear potatoe and a hampster.

It's Soooo bad that we all are talking about it. And millions of folks on MSN have been doing the same. Isn't this an example of Marketing 101 from Kent State University from as far back as 1977?
See it worked. As they say ALL PR is GOOD PR , even when it's annoying as hell.
