http://marsrovers.nasa.gov/gallery/p...20040125a.html As for the 'Joystick' in question, I was actually just making a joke but as to what it really is, NASA's Mars website doesn't give out much information as to the instruments that the rover use.

The joystick like thing is actually a sun dial for high school kids to do experiments with.
I also found out that this thing transmits those files at 120bits per second. It must seriously take a long time to transmit those pictures. Jeez... How about the software updates for the first rover? Wow...

Do you really think we are on mars or if this is just some hoax? My coworkers were discussing this and they got on the topic of a couple years back of when pics from the moon were released and on one of the pics there was a line down the middle that turned out to be a corner of a wall.
