Holy cow! there is over 1000 pages of members
dude halx... why don't you remove all the accounts that have been inactive for over a week and have less than 5 posts.... wouldn't that cut the 10,000 inactive members down to like 1,200 or so??
just a thought man... holy cow.... never seen sooo many users on the same board  |
Probably due mostly to the titty board.. btw halx, is it every coming back? Sorry I haven't been keeping up.
|
Hi there :)
Just a couple things: 1. This post should have been posted in the Suggestions Forum, since that's pretty much what you're doing, making a suggestion re: the forum. 2. there is at least one post in there already about this subject, HERE. 2a. re: finding that previous post - perhaps choosing the best search term in this case would've been, hmm, not so obvious..? that happens sometimes, just please remember to try that first ;) and welcome to TFP :) |
Oh shit. I just noticed the titty board is back. Now I feel stupid :p
|
^--- Don't know if that was a good idea to mention the TB JP;
'cause now we're going to be bombarded with questions about it. Again |
Well most of the accounts are usually banned people (cause of being underage, or smarting off) or people that abandon their account cause they can't use the titty board. I've heard through the grapevine that if they run the script to clear off of the dead members (aka axing) That they can't allow new members to join. So it just isn't easy one way or another.

Why not assign somebody to do the axing...that's alot of work for one person. *polish his axe* /obvious volunteer attempt |
er.. accounts are already marked after a period of inactivity and non posting. They are not, however, removed from the main list (as far as I am aware of the vBUlletin system). The number of inactive members is also on the order of 20,000 or so, giving the site a less than 33% participation rate. (Members: 32,331).
Given that there are 37,000 threads started, and 850,000 posts, and that each avtive member has an average of 1000 posts or so by now, I would say that means we have 850 (very) active members. I had a search link for top posting members, when I get it back, Ill repost here with a proper link to illustrate the number of active vs. inactive members. |
I just did my check, and there are 814 members that have above 250 posts.the list drops off sharply too, so there are only 2660 members that have a significant amount of posts (taken to be 50, in this case)
link Doing a bit of math, that means we have: 0.3% of all users are users that have more than 1000 posts. 2.6% of all users are users that have more than 250 posts. 8.2% of all users are users that have more than 50 posts. However, if you look at participation rates compared to those before the board was made into a participation based board, they are a marked improvement. Hope the solid numbers help a bit. |
.0032938% of posters have greater than 4500 posts.
*Evil Laugh. *Puts head down and exits. |
heh, yaay for numist :) thx for the work.
interesting numbers and such. |
very interesting numbers...
sorry I didn't post this in suggestions... too many forums ;) but yeah... there's definately alot of lookers and not talkers |
Interesting...
Now can I use my axe? :D |
Is the Titty-Board back?
*runs and hides and laughs racously giving away his hiding location* |

Hi.
I'll do whatever the fuck I want with my database. Thanks. :) |
Once again, Halx reminds us that his axe has the longest handle of all. ;)
Wield it as you will, sir. |
Thats an amazing number of members. I never thought about that.

I'm just happy to be a part of this community....no TB for me, i must have to keep posting 0r something. Has there been a thread on that subject somewhere......
i just wondering, not trying to start anything. mr b |
Just a thought.... it might be cool to have some sort of viewable map where members could plot their global location (in secret, of course) and we could see the distribution of members. Anyone out there have such skills?
