Mars Teraforming

This article is excellent excellent excellent for those of you who are interested in the current Moon and Mars discussions.

Mars Teraforming

I won't post the entire artcle since its couple of pages long. At the end, there are more links on Mars/Moon related articles :)

Very interesting stuff. The idea of Mars ever being habitable like Earth is pretty mindblowing and amazing. Too bad we won't be around long enough to see it! :)

Yeah we won't be around but it's still pretty damn cool that it's up there and that we can communicate with it even though it's that far away.

I'd like to be around...to watch and see if they start mining, drilling, polluting, or if they had actually learned their lessons.

I want to see the NBA after people liv on the moon or Mars for a few hundred years...they will be giants...less gravity will make them so tall...at least I think...oh well, it will be freaky.

Those tall people from living under low-gravity would find it difficult to impossible to even visit Earth. Imagine suddenly facing 2.5 times (Mars to Earth) or 6 times (Moon to Earth) the gravity you've faced all your life. Sure, the scale might read 150 pounds, but you were accustomed to weighing 60 pounds (Mars) or 25 pounds (Moon). The Mars kid would be as immoble as someone who weighs 375 pounds on Earth, and the Moon kid would be like a 900 pounder.

Yeah, the Moon kid might could slam dunk without jumping on the Moon. He wouldn't be able to stand up on Earth.

As for pollution, it's only pollution if it causes harm. If there's nothing native alive, then there's nothing to be harmed by waste products.

Excellent link feelgood :)

Mindblowing, indeed. It seems a huge undertaking and impossible task, and I'd sure like to see it. Guess I'll just have to find some way to stick around for a couple thousand years.

What a show ;)

With that logic, I think that moon/mars babies wouldn't be able to properly develop muscles in the first place so I think their sports would be limited to video games :p

That being said, I think they will totally kick ass in NBA2300 for the PS9.

The muscles would develop properly for the environment they're in. The problem happens when you change environs.
