i use a fresh wash cloth each & every time.
same with dishrags for doing hand washed dishes. i add bleach to my washer for all of my towels & linens. i don't care if the colors fade (although i generally just buy white or beige). i want super clean towels & linens. no cooties or heebie jeebies!

OK, I did a little test. I went out and bought a puffy thing just for the test. I took a shower with just my bar of soap and my hand. Then, while still in the shower, I took the puffy thing and washed again. STILL stayed in there and washed AGAIN with a washcloth. Well, there was STILL dirt on the washcloth after washing my self TWICE. Not a lot, but a little. Most of the dirt was from my face, especially behind my ears. I really tried my best to clean with my hands and the puffy thing.
