Back from Florida
Well, after an extended absence, I'm back from my work trip to Florida and I'm now back in the snow of Indiana. Anyone else ever get shipped off to work in some nice (warm) places?

I was shipped to South Florida for six years from the Carolinas. Now I'm in the Detroit area. Suprisingly, I like it here.
After a while you (at least me) get tired of the heat and you also don't go to the beach as much. I'm sure I'll get tired of the weather here after a while, but the golf sure is great, plentiful and available at least six months of the year. Then I get a break and do other things while thinking about golf! |
when i worked in chicagoland, i was sent to los angeles for the month of november; had thanksgiving with my aunt and uncle in burbank...then, back to the windy city for a particularly harsh winter...

I'm going to florida for vacation next week... My dad always gets shipped to las vegas, las angeles, south america, florida, and louisiana. I hope someday my company has 3 private jets...

Well I live in South Florida and usually never take advantage of the weather, ocean, golf or many of the other things Fla. has to offer cause I am to busy working. I would highly recomend the area though to those looking to visit. Beware of the population growth down here though. If you dont like traffic, old people, construction, or crime this may not be the place for you. I guess there are worse places to be though. ;)

Yeah, it's all vacation until you live and work there when everyone else is on vacation! I lived in Ft. Lauderdale and I couldn't believe how dense the population was, with half or more Hispanic and could barely speak English. I had 15 grovery stores within 3 miles of my house. Now I drive 6 miles to the nearest grocery store. Then add the crime, old people, Haitans....

I live in Cape Coral. My dad came down to visit a while back.. I had been there 8 months at the time. In 2 days, he found all kinds of stuff to do that I didn't know about because I'm always working. Everyone comes down here for the holidays. I went up north because dammit, it's just not right to be in shorts and a t-shirt mowing the lawn in 80-degree weather on Christmas Eve. |
