Too much snow
Alright, last sunday/monday we ended up getting + 60 cm of snow dumped on us. It was a hassle but it was nice to know that we'd have a white Christmas. Besides, we're so used to this in the Maritimes, it was nothing new. But as of today, another about 50 cms fell and mix that with freezing rain and now it's a complete mess here. I've been stuck inside all day (there is no way i'm taking the car out anywhere's in this weather). I hate winter already and it's only the beginning.
Anyone else having really bad weather and just generally hating winter at the moment?

We got a little less here - six inches (15 cm) - but I'd like to echo the sentiment that snow's a pain in the butt, if only because I had to shovel it with just one hand (as related in this story: http://tfproject.org/tfp/showthread....threadid=37965 )
I'm sure it was a comical sight for the neighbors...

Hail Citizens!
I have seen snow maybe four times in my life. It freaks me out. Especially that squeaky crunching noise it makes when you step on it. I would sooner have the dead walk the earth than have it snow. Any snow is too much snow for me. -GH |

I love the stuff. Bring it on. The more the better. I can get to my favorite ski spot on my sled if the roads are snowed in. Hell if there is that much snow I might just go sleddin'. Ski doo 670cc piped & ported scream machine with a 2x144 track that is built for deep powder.

I'm with powder....Can't get enough. As far I am concerned no snow is enough and any is too little.

I love snow. I hate ice. So far, I'm a happy camper. I want like 3 feet of the stuff. It's freezing raining right now, though, and that sucks.

At least you get snow. Here in North Carolina, we just get 32* weather and rain. It sucks.

Thanks Lasereth,
I wondered what nutballs went to school up there. Do they still have classes in snowball making 101, and does everyone still take skiing as a P.E. to get slope discounts? Greetings from down the mountain a bit, in NC

Here in central NC (Chapel Hill, and where I am from, Charlotte), it just gets right to freezing point and dumps rain.

We got snow dumped on us all last night. We were on our way back from Vegas and got stuck in Beaver (southern utah, if anyones interested) because they closed the freeways. Chewybaca96's truck woulda made it (4 wheel drive is the best), but they wouldn't let us So from Cedar City on, it was icky. It;s pretty today though, they got everything plowed so all of the snow is ony the sidewalks and lawns and stuff. Love the way it looks, hates the way it feels and crunches :P

The other night we got 6 inches. Friends left around midnight and me, pissed after the bbq and drinks, goes cross country skiing down the middle of my street. Only fell once but I didn't spill my beer.

I love snow! The more the merrier for me, but you can keep that damned freezing rain.
I'm actually getting worried that we won't have a white Christmas here in Toronto. Our summer sucked, but so far our fall/winter has been too nice!

I love snow. I don't like the extreme cold. Lately it's been below 0 F (something like -20 Cent). Right now it's 18F (-8C) with a biting wind.
It was amusing when I was a college. Was friends with a guy from (northern) Australia. He was from an area there that didn't get snow. We were attending college in Wisconsin right on the border of Upper Michigan. First snowfall we had was pretty big. Walking to breakfast in the am and he's walking through the snow, shuffling his feet, and wearing a look of wonder. I threw a snowball at him and I'll never forget his words when it hit and he went to brush off the snow. "Oh! It's wet!" He'd never thought about how snow would feel wet. It was fun seeing his amazement and we had plenty of snow fun before we finished school. He adapted quite well but before long winter made him long for home. I grew up here in the snowy North so seeing someone else who'd never seen it before made me appreciate the beauty of it once again.

Snow is lovely to look at, I used to love going to Colo. to ski. Now I have to drive in it a lot( in a big truck) and it can get to be a pain. Don't ya just luv the state highway people who think- GOD put it here, so let GOD take it away. Been lucky this year so far, haven't gotten into any severe snow storms, but winters just getting started.
