I hear your pain WhoaitsZ...I had a website I was quite proud of. Nothing fancy, but it was my first and getting better everyday. After 6 months and gaining a small but dedicated readership, the free host pulled the plug without warning and my site was killed. All because of what I thought was classy, naughty nurse pictures that went along with my post about being sick and needing a nurse.

nxserve.com and hytekhosting.com offer some $7/month plans that will probably exceed the traffic and space requirements you need. Free adult hosting just isn't a reality these days.

No, they are not wrong to do that at all. It's their counter, they have every fucking right to choose where it is displayed.

YOU are wrong to think you are entitled to using services for free and then bitching when they don't bend over backwards for you. That's like going to a food bank and then complaining that they don't hand out T-bone steaks.

Make your own fucking counter (it's like 3 lines of code), or pay for one from a company that offers it on adult sites.

ir.... the reason it angers me is due to it being free for and being free for that and then for one party it is wrong.

so yeah, anytime i see something there are zillions of codes for in the open except for 'that one' fuck them.

Let's cut down on the cursing at each other guys...

Z, why don't you just host the counter yourself? Just put it on your server or something. It's not exactly a big deal.

personnaly i think your wrong, if they find it morraly objectional to host your files then so be it. no money for them.

its a free world and just as your are free to go out and host it yourself, they are free to say no.

It appears that the irony of saying "Those assholes are wrong to only give out counters to non-adult websites! I hate when people try to impose their beliefs on others!" is completely lost on you.

People who run those free counters are not on some kind of moral crusade. Here's how most of those things work. The free counter that people stick on their site links back to the counter's website. As more people add those counters, those links number in the thousands. Search engines (especially Google) see that and think "Wow! That must be a really important site if so many people link to it!"

Now that counter site is considered to be an important page. Consequently, any pages that it links to are considered to be important as well, which means they get more prominent positions in search rankings. Companies are willing to pay dearly for this, since that means more people will find their website. So they buy links from those counter companies. And that's how they make money off "free" counters.

It just so happens that the company has likely decided that the possibility of scaring off potential advertisers by having their website associated with a deluge of porn site links is worse than the added gain by those additional links, so they decide not to accept them. It's not some kind of moral thing, it's just a business looking out for their interests and trying to mazimize their profits, as any good business should.
