Final Exam
Man, I always study for those things. Sometimes I don't and still manage to ace it. But I have couple of finals this week and I studied my butts off for them and I'm still feeling the butterflies in my stomach. Anybody got a good tip on how to kill that butterfly?

Just be confident that you are gonna do good. When its all over, at least you know that you gave it your best.
|
If I study for even 30 minutes for a final then I never get nervous. If I don't study at all then I'm a nervous wreck, however. As long as I make a bit of effort the "butterflies" always go away. I just think about it like jay-g did: I did the best I could considering the amount of effort I gave. :)

i've got a final in 13 hours. i have no intention of sleeping between now and then, nor do i plan on studying beyond reading through the lecture slides a couple time. and i'll ace it. it's the other ones that i might get worried about.
anyways, a shot before the exam might get the butterflies out. |
I can study for hours on end (not continuously, just in all) and still have a problem with the tests. I'm just not a test taker. The best thing I've found is to study in short spurts, get to class about a half-hour early and do a cram session. If it's a multipart test, do the ones you know you know the answers to and do the hard ones when you're done. I also have one at eight AM tomorrow morning. Unlike Mael, I plan to sleep :)

In my experience, I'm nervous about a test I will do well. However if I am confident I lull myself into a false sense of security and then do poorly !!
Also, pulling all nighters is a bad idea for studying. It is during REM sleep that your body consolidates information which you have learned during the day. Without sleeping it will be very hard to recall information. |

I have one more left. Then a month of vacation. :D

Whiskey or bourbon shots. That's all I know of that'll kill off those butterflies...
|
3 finals next week, I'm not worried :)
just don't stress over it, if you know the material you pass the test. |
I didnt really study for my finals.... on my sociology and psychology finals i got 90%.... I feel pretty good.... (considering I didnt study for either of them) At least I got an A... my advice is just don't so much worry about it... have fun to rlieve the stress. Go and hang out with your friends. You'll do great:)
|
Finished one class today ... got an 82%. WoohoO! That's a B.
|
Don't be worried. Study as best you can, that's all you can do. If you stress out it will just hurt youself. Eat right and do try to get some sleep because it's much easier trying to take a test without pulling an all nighter.
|
I usually spend about 6-8 hours studying the night before. Then, I show up an hour before the final study while listening to a CD. Passed every class so far. I have a chemistry final and a physics test next week and that's what I'm going to do.
|
Just one more test for me, and then freedom. It's truly a great feeling, even though leaving hasn't really dawned on me yet.
|
I have my biggest final today (saturday morning) and I'm worried, but I know the material and whatever I get on the test I will be fine with. I know I studied and tried my best. Now I just wish I didn't have the Flu. :\
|
ah, finals are over for me...now it's on to grading my student's papers!
But I've read that people should study around the same time they are going to take the test because our brains work the same at around the same time each day. So if your test is in the morning, study when you get up in the morning each day. Or, I think you just have to do it during similar waking states. Whatever, I just resolve myself to figuring how many points I can miss before losing an A. Then I miss that many and make sure I get the rest correct. Worked all through undergrad for straight As! Takes the stress off, too. Have fun! |
I eat a lot during finals, this year I decided to get a pound of turkey so I wouldn't get so fat. It calms me down, try it.
|

I have finished two of my five exams. What makes me mad is that my school is one of the last in the state to finish, and I have an exam on the last day. All my friends are going home, and I stil have five more days of this crap. |
Almost never study. I do get nervous on occasion, but, I just deal with it the same as I deal with everything. Ignore it.
|
I dont study....I really can't very poor understanding the study thing. I alrdy had my finals.... My math one was a breeze(surpsingly) I thought I was going to bomb the hell out of it....because I didn't study. I aced it(GO ME!). I bombed my A & P test....which I studied for....I'm seeing a patern.
|
I just finished my finals.. I usually am not worried about tests, and the only one I felt worried about was the one I studied the most for.
Even though it was for an easy class. I managed to fail all my finals, and probably a few of my classes, though, so my advice is discountable.... |
I usually study the couple days before, up until the afternoon the day before. Then take the night off, have some fun, RELAX!, and get a good night's sleep. In the morning, I usually don't even think about the class until I sit down and have the test in front of me. The only exception to this is if I have something specific I can't seem to remember and I want it fresh in my mind. It's worked for me so far- We'll see if it holds true when I start finals Monday night.

I have 6 finals coming up this week.. two per day, so not studying is not an option. I've been killing myself with preparation this whole weekend, and I am still nervous. This is cruel and unusual!
Good luck, all you fellow final-takers... |
music, eating healthy, drinking water, and plenty of rest. thats what i did for my high school final exams just over a month ago. i also talked to myself a lot telling myself i'd be confident, that everything was going to be alright, that i would do well.
got marks back today, i'm ranked in the top 1.7% of the state in a pool of ~70,000-80,000 students. i cant wipe the smile off my face. a ball breaker of a year has paid off, and 99.9% sure i've got a uni place next year. woo! |
