Is God Sexy?
Fisrt of all, I'm sorry if there's anyone here who finds the title of this thread sacriligeous (if you do, just imagine that I put a '0' instead of the 'o' :rolleyes: )
The reason I ask is that I saw some Christian rock song from the Eighties last night, in which the singer was telling God that He made her temperature soar. 'Does she mean what I think she means?' I thought to myself. Then I realised that perhaps it wasn't so ridiculous: -Women are attracted to power and God is the most powerful being in the universe -Some women are attracted to father figures and God is The Father -Whilst Christianity considers lust sinful, this surely does not cover all forms of sexual attraction. If I've understood this song properly, it could be a fascinating insight into the female psyche. So does God make your temperature soar? |

in Genesis, before the creation of Eve, the Bible says that God knew Adam. Later the writer uses the same language to say that Adam knew Eve and she bore him a son. One of the definitions of the Hebrew word used here (to know) is to know intimately (as in physical relations ie...sex.) So I sure hope that God is sexy -- apparently He likes men too. . . EDIT: I can't remember the exact hebrew word here (Its been a while since I've had the classes) but if you're interested, I'll look it up. Have a nice day! :) |
