I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere, but where I live a pretty boy is usually considered a wuss.

Yes, she may have meant that you looked more like you would be known for your good looks rather than your athletic/intelligence or whatever. Of course, this doesn't mean that you aren't athletic or smart, only that she probably has the hots for you.

Pretty boy- as i have heard it (and i live in alberta) is a guy that is effeminate(sp?)
they'll spend alot of time preening in the mirror, buy the latest fashion trend clothes and have "accessories". They don't "get dirty" ie. do things that will work up a sweat- more than a few sports, heavy labor jobs, play around "in the mud"
and yes they are usually considered a wuss.

Over here, a pretty boy is usually considered someone feminine looking, rather rhan effeminate. Don't worry. This is a good thing, as recent studies show that women in more affluent countries tend to go for feminine features in men.

As a point of interest, it is thought that this might be because feminine features are indicative of the feminine characteristics, such as being good at social interaction, that are useful in affluent societies. In less affluent societies, where the economy is driven more by primary industry, more masculine attributes such as brawn, tend to be considered more attractive.

It doesn't necessarily mean you look feminine.

It sometimes means you have a smooth youthful look to you
Someone with a classic face...but not really rugged, rough look
You "might" have a vain look about you, but then again it might come natural.

I wouldn't worry about it, you are what you are
and you'll probably change.

As far as I understand it, it's like being the male version of a dumb blonde. You look really good but you have nothing going on upstairs. (ie. The wheel is spinning, but the hamsters dead)

Chris Elliot was a "fancy lad" in the movie "Cabin Boy."
Maybe that is like a "pretty boy"?

Pretty boy refers to someone who is so good looking that they are almost "pretty". Pretty boy is a compliment in a way, but I think that many people assume that a guy that is too good-looking is either gay or has always gotten ahead on his looks.

It seems to me that skier had his description down.

I'd be offended, myself, but I've never, ever been called a pretty boy.

My wife calls her brother a pretty boy.

He's really muscular, but not beefy. He's an attractive guy, so much so that he's pretty...he's always looking good and such. I think he's a man's man, so the term is meant to be annoying becuase it implys the opposite of manly. But, I think it can go either way, girly or manly. I suppose it's really how one acts in conjunction with the look.s

yep i think skier got it as well. Damned if i ever get called a pretty boy!
Also guys who use a lot of beauty products, fall pretty close, cause that's what they're for, to make you pretty. Products such as hair gell, moisturiser etc are some examples. I mainly use papaw cream (vitamin A fruit extract, hehe, i could be pretty just for saying that ) as an all in one beauty product

If you want to quantify it. If you hvae more than 3 beauty items, you're pretty i am joking ok
we could try to come up with a number though

Skier is right on... but a pretty boy definately has to look in the mirror, or make a mirror out of every window passed, shiny cars, pools of water, etc...
