Baseball -- For love of the game...
 

If there was any one profession in the world that you could immediately have, without regard to the degree of expertise you currently hold, what would it be?

I've always had an extreme aching and longing in my heart to be a baseball pitcher -- even in the lowest of leagues -- similar to the pain caused by the actual act. Ever since I injured my right arm in highschool and tore cartilage in the joint, I've lost my velocity and can't throw more than 15-20 full speed pitches.

I was a pitcher on the varsity team in high school and loved every minute of it. Unforunately, I hyperflexed my elbow in high school gym class while playing basketball and destroyed my ability to throw with my right arm. The pain of throwing is extraordinary, yet, I find myself doing it on a fairly regular basis.

I love baseball with all of my heart and I feel robbed to have lost my ability to play without pain, but I do it anyway, for a genuine love of the game.

Do you share a similar longing?

I'd be a cartoonist - a successful cartoonist.

How cool would that be? Just draw funny pictures and make people laugh. Work from wherever you want.

I'm a cartoonist now, but it doesn't pay the bills. Maybe some day...

You know, I knew a guy who grew up wanting to work in special effects. His dream was to build spaceships for a Star Wars movie. He grew up, went into the field and was successful enough to work on a number of big movies.

When he finally got the job to work on a Star Wars movie he was psyched. But after building a bazillion little spaceships, he decided that the work sucked. He walked away and started working on more fun, creative projects for other movies.

I suppose I have a point to this story, but I've misplaced it.

i'm just now deciding what I wanna do with my life.. and I think I wanna be a great psychologist.. then use my reputation to get into politics and change the world.

I've always thought that breeding race horses would be awesome.


Whenever I go to the track I'm fascinated by the bloodlines.

when i was a little kid, i wanted to be a banana when i grew up. i'm really not too sure how'd i'd pull that off today, even if i didn't need any requisite knowledge or experiance.

I'd love to have my own cooking show. I'm in the culinary field right now, and I really enjoy the showmanship and expression of creativity that goes along with cooking. Being able to share that with an audience of millions would be amazing.

I'd like to be a radio DJ. But only if I could program my own stuff. And only if I could make atleast as much money doing what I am now.

Or catcher for the St Louis Cardinals.

I wouldn't mind being a rock star. Well, not the front man, but a guitar player. Even rhythm guitar is fine. Just the longing to make music for people and feel their love for it back. I work in the performind arts now (though not onstage), and though i'm deeply gratified that my work is seen by a lot of people, I would always love to perform in front of a crowd, if only just once.

I'd love to work coding for a great game company, like blizzard or square.
I'd love to make a living in a rock band.
and I'd love to be a fighter jet pilot.
any of those three, and I'd happily work until the day I died.

I'd love to get paid to bitch and moan which I do now for free.

A pilot! I love being in the air and just feeling like I'm almost able to touch heaven or something. Or a dancer, I just envy those girls who have the natural talent- it's one of the most beautiful things to watch

A racecar driver/fabricator. Well on my way to becoming just that.

well, I want to be a writer (non-fiction, mostly) and then after my children are all growns up, probably teach - college level.
