Honest deal? Weed Question.
OK, so here I am. Ive been smoking for a while, and I know what kind of prices I pay, and for what.
Now, I dont want to know what everyone pays, thats been done. I live in the middle of upstate new york, next to schoharie county. For anyone who recognizes the name, you will know that it is homegrown heaven. I went to rochester for thanksgiving, and its ridiculous what they pay out there for weed! I just got weed at like 65 bucks for a quarter oz of hydro! One of the kids I know out there payed 30 for an 1/8 of schwag! Is it just rochester? Or is weed expensive in all cities? Or does he just not know any good connections? Last edited by krwlz; 11-30-2003 at 04:30 PM.. |

Your getting the same as AZ. I havent been there in a while but I used to pay about 70-80 for a quad of reasonable dank. here in CO people want 90-100 for a quad of dank no matter how good it is (hence I havent smoked in a good couple of months). When I used to go to cali to get buds we would get an ounce for about 250-300 and that was the bomb shit (though it was actually from Oregon most of the time). Every now and then we would get the real California local shit at 360 an Oz and somewhere around 3,600-4,000 a lb. Still, you might as well get used to the fluctuations cause if you ever go to Texas or the mid midwest youll be paying out your ears. If want the best prices and the best buds you need to go to Holland. Out there I was getting the Cannabis cup winning black widow strain for like 10 gildars (maybe 5 bucks) a gram. And trust me when I tell you that they hook it up as long as they dont see you as a stupid American.

Well, back in Louisiana a lot of people have never even heard of good herb. Mostly the market is flooded with brown Mexican brick weed. The price fluctuates wildly depending on who your selling to. I have heard of people paying 40$ a 1/4 oz. of some shit that was full of seeds and stems, dry as fuck and smelled like ammonia. I would say the average is about 20$ for a 1/4 oz. As far as high grade, well cured buds the prices are through the roof. People pay 120$ for 1/4 oz. (7 grams) all day long.
In Southern California the Mexican brown weed was nearly free. Oz's were around 20$ to 50$. If your willing to buy it from south of the border I have heard of it going for 100$ a lb. I paid 40$ an 1/8 (3.5 grams) and 80$ for 1/4 oz (7 grams). Oz's (28 grams) went for around 250$. In Northern Cali (Bay Area) I have never in life life seen sooooo much cheap, extremely high quality, easy to find weed. The shitty brown stuff was non existant. I couldnt find it if I wanted to. Oakland has the most lenient marijuana laws I know of. Our upstairs neighboors had their medical cards and growing permits. They were legally allowed to grow 74 plants in their house and sell it for around 3000$ a lb. to the cannibus clubs. All legal as far as the state laws were concerned. With no card or medical permit anything under 1 oz. (28 grams) is a 100$ ticket. (as long as its in one bag, more than one bag and they will try to get you for intent to distribute) But back to the subject..... 1/8 oz. was around 40$, 1/4 oz was 50$ to 100$, and you could get oz's for 200$ to 450$ depending on the quality. Now I live in Kentucky and so many people live out in the hills that everyone seems to have a little bit that they grew and they are more than happy to share, or show it off, so I havent really got a feel for prices here.

Well, I have a solid connection. I get mine for $30 an 1/8. It is great green too. I went to school at Humboldt State U. so I consider myself a connouisseuer of the almighty paca loco! I have connections to get green from Mendicino, Humboldt, B.C., SoCal, Tahoe, and a few other spots. Basically, if you don't have a solid connection, you will be paying $50-60 for an 1/8 in California.

Around here, a gram goes for $2 (skunk) to $5(chronic.) Maybe I know the right people, or maybe you're all getting ripped off. Maybe I just live in one of the country's most drug-infested, rich, suburban towns.

Well, must be my friends just gettin ripped off. I cant imagine weed being that expensive right in a city...
He actually lives in the suburbs, but who knows. Its not even that its expensive, well, not only that. But he cant even find access to good stuff! Upper mids is about the best he can come by easily. I only smoke hydro, so that would be devastating! |

another reason drugs aren't likely to be legalized, there's too much pressure from druglords to keep it contraband; there's no money in it for them when the narcotics are legal and taxed and regulated.
That's one of the reasons I stopped smoking. The war on drugs is a hole in the ground into which both the government and its citizens are throwing their money; the only people profiting from it are the dealers.

I'll stick with hashish, lsd, or (very rarely) heroin (smoking it, I don't fuck with needles.)

alright man, I used to live a little further south than you (orange county, Newburgh.). I don't smoke any more, but average prices for people who don't know people go like this (for bomb chronic/dro)...$20 for a gram, $45-50 for an eighth, $90 for a quarter, $170 for a half, $300 for an ounce. I just bought lbs for 1800-2400 depending on quality and served, and my hooked up prices were pretty much 25% off of the prices above.

I've never paid for it, so I don't really know the value per ounce. Here it comes in 'tinnies' which are $20, but I don't know the weight so it's not much help.
That price is three years old, too. I no longer smoke it so I'm not current with the trends |

What is with this hypocrisy in regards to drugs? I didn't come on this thread to flame, but this sorta thing makes me sick about the weed crowd. I've watched so many times people say weed is harmless compared to other dugs, and then drop out of college after one semester smoking $800 of weed a semester and doing bsolutely nothing all day. Some of my closest friends have major problems with weed and spend a majority of their income on it. This normally wouldn't be bad , but they are adults and have other responsibilities. I know hard core alcoholics who are much more sucessful in school and their jobs than raging potheads. And these same potheads absolutely hate alcohol. It's all based on the person, not on the drug. So if ______ can smoke heroin and still be a functioning member of society, I have no problem with it. That been said, I live in an area where weed is grown in huge quantities in the woods, and the local law enforcement largely ignores it, so prices are pretty cheap. |
