Yeah.. this is porn sophisticate.
Erotica for yuppies. Neurotica for smart people. Idiocy for conservatives. A big letdown for horny teenagers. I wonder about the sexual orientation of the men in these pics. I don't care about the statement.., fuck if there even IS a statement. I just wonder about the kind of person it takes to have their high quality, unmistakeable face covered in sperm and displayed for thousands to see for free.

I wonder what the background of the story is. Do they just sit and wait for the artist to blow? A very non-sexual, at least for the reciever, act. Does their significant other do it?
And what is the artist saying? Some art I just don't "get".

i think it did it's job..
it's kinda nice once in a while to see how something so obviously cliche' and "controversal" can spark such strong emotions in it's audience. I bet some of you would be very upset if this was near your home, or child's school. Some people would be pretty disgusted at the male cumshots for ethical and/or moral reasons (See: "And just for future reference, if it's a guy, it belongs in Off The Wayside, or nowhere at all."). Some could be ashamed if they found it physically exciting... All of these emotions brought up by one photograph. That's the only saving grace of modern "art" Drawing out people's inner feelings. though after a while.. it get's real old, no matter how much disturbance it causes.. |

I found this image to be highly amusing. I'm sure in "non-artistic" circumstances, she would have castrated him for getting some in her eye. Interesting idea though, remove a "taboo" bodily fluid from it's sexually charged context and put it in a banal setting. Still doesn't lose it's impact though, very disconcerting. Interesting. Not sure what the photographer's 'message' is though - if there is one. And Hal brings up a good point - I'm curious about the guys as well.

Could be like imagining the audience in their underwear. If someone's ever annoying you with how arrogant they are about what they're saying and take themselves too seriously, just picture your load on their face and they're suddenly much easier (funner) to deal with.
Or it could be representative of the increasing sexualization of American society and how, as "NC-17" 40 years ago has become "PG-13" today, the XXX of today is moving steadily towards PG-13 too, and pictures like facials will be commonplace in public (after all, what IS exposed that is censored by the FCC and such?). Or it could be the artist doing what every other artist does: Creates immortality through an image, but here he is being ironic by using man's first immortality-paint-brush to do so... My point is this: He is trying to say something, and there are various ways to interpret it. That's one definition of "art," I believe. |

Isn't that what arts' about? Discussions? I remember thinking about Shakespear in high school and my english teacher used to talk about what shakespeare's play were really about and I pointed out, did anybody ever bother asking him what it's suppose to be about?
My point is...that website has the artist email address, so ask!

Interesting. This dude has some extreme concepts in art. I Googled, here's an even more "out there" collection.

to quote some annoying britartist or other (can't remember which one) "Art is what artists do"
I like to think of art as a created or found object or experience designed to be thought provoking. This certainly provokes thought. actually, I find a lot of photographers who document the experience of their subjects a lot more interesting than a lot of other artists. Did anyone see this photo exhibition a couple of months ago which was pictures of high school kids with either someone they hated or one of their friends? Part of the point of the exhibition was for the person looking to try and decide whether the two people were friends or enemies, both from the way they dressed and the body language captured in the picture. The saddest of these was a kid who was photographed alone because the other person who was meant to be in the picture with him refused to.
