Ill Weather

To start, I'm defining ill weather in this thread as snowy or rainy weather (which to me is beautiful weather!!).

Now, I grew up in a small mountain town, when it snowed someone in the building would announce it was snowing, and everyone would stop what they were doing to at least go to a window and watch, and everyone became happy.

I still live in Colorado, but am on the Front Range, rather than in the mountains. When I see snow I still have my mountain town habit, where no matter what I'm doing I go find the nearest window, and will literally sit for 10-15 minutes and watch the snow fall (if I can't get outside to enjoy it; this really pisses my boss off, but he can deal). Then, I go announce it to everyone. Unlike in my home-mountain-town most people snide and sneer and start complaining. The problem I have with this is some of these people then complain in the summer when there's a drought and they can't have a campfire while camping. Do they not realize that the snow collecting on the ground is in turn helping with the eventual spring beauty and water levels?? This makes me want to just smack people upside the back of the head.

I'll take any weather I can get, I prefer FEET of snow, and could play in that ALL day long (don't need a slope to ski/snowboard down), just need a pile of snow and I'll be rolling around in it like a child. The only weather I can't stand is when temps reach above 100 degrees. If I'm butt naked and still burning up there's something wrong.

What're your ideal weather conditions? Do you know people who complain about conditions that would in general benefit people and nature in the region? Does this bother anyone else?

People have preferences.
My preference is for the weather to be as sunny and warm as it wants to get.

Some people make a big deal out of their preferences.
But some people make a big deal out of everything.

I usually enjoy any kind of weather...

I love when it's sunny and warm so I could eat outside...
I love running in rain...
I love to take a long walk when it's snowing...

I am an Arizona buy, born and raised. Every year of my life i've experienced 100+ degree temperatures for 7-8 months out of the year, but the winters here are to die for. Our winter temps hover between 60 and 70, so it's just perfect for all kinds of outdoors activities you can't experience while the desert sun is baking everything it touches. I've always loved the (relatively) warm winters, but i've grown to dislike the stifling summers even more, so i'm moving very soon.

I'll be driving across the country in the middle of winter, so I think I'm going to have the chance to experience winter in all of its fury, and where I end up will be much more temparate than Arizona's two choices of hot or not quite as hot. I'm looking foward to the change, even if i'm not quite prepared for it. I'm hoping that the winter and all of its wonderous emenations (snow, ice, butt-ass cold temperatures) won't lose their charm for me, that I'll learn to love them after a life deprived of them. Only time will see.

I'm a big fan of rain...my experience with snow is limited (similar to phredgreen, 100+ temperatures through most of the year).

Phred,
You are about to understand why all those people have been moving to Arizona all your life.

I love winter. When you wake up in the morning after a big snowfall everything is covered in a huge blanket of white. The ground, trees, houses, power lines; everything just looks so clean and peaceful you forget about that fight you had last night, or the bad news you got. Everything is just perfect.

Try San Diego...it's exactly what you are talking about.
but then again, everyone else is going there too.
And because of this...it's expensive and they don't pay well, and jobs aren't stable.
But at least the weather is always good.

To me...it's boring
The Holidays don't feel like the holidays
12 years of the SAME fuckin' thing every single day...ugh.
I like change...I like excitement.
Give me rain, give me a thunderstorm...give me snow & wind.
The more there is, the more interesting it is.

I'll take my nice days in May and Sept.
But I like it that by the time I'm tired of Summer, it changes
By the time I'm tired of Winter, it changes

I don't bitch...I don't let it stop me.
Bring it on.

Which is why I'm moving to NY when I get the chance. SD is overrated, high priced and boring. And the Chargers suck.

I like my summers hot and my winters cold. You don't get that in SD. Perfect temp for me is 75-80.

I've lived in Seattle all my life, so I'm used to the over-cast skies and rain. Somedays when I step outside and look up at the gray clouds it makes me smile.

Perfect temp for me is around the 60's.

Lots of people here bitch about the weather. They bitched during the summer when we went for weeks without a single drop of rain or clouds. They bitched when the fall/winter weather hit Seattle like a fuckin mac-truck. (I'll admit that I bitched too. The change in weather was a bit sudden.)

I live and love Northern California. It's unbelievable and home, sweet home for me. Did several other states, but none can compare. Yes, it's expensive but quality always is hard to come by. Diversity is real and I'll take a quake over a tornado any day!

It's supposed to snow this weekend around here and I couldn't be happier. I wished we received more of the white stuff.
I lived in the tropics for years and I must say it's nice, but I guess I prefer four seasons more.

Gotta have weather changes. Love the spring and summer because the grass grows and extra money flows. I love the fall and winter for the break from mowing and the rain and the snow. THere is nothing better than school being called off for a snow day. I think I would like Seattle when I was there in March of 1995 it was great.

I love the weather changes here in New England. Certainly never boring. I like the warmer weather but I have to admit when a big snowstorm is on its way i get excited. The only thing is winter lasts so long and the joints get kinda sore. I try not to complain about the weather....too many others doing the complaining. Bitch if its hot, bitch if its cold.

I'm from Colorado and I love to watch the snow come down. I don't like shoveling it or driving in it, but nothing better than sitting in the dark with some good music playing in the background, sipping a little Bailey's Cream and watching the snow fall.
I am in Florida now and I get the same joy in watching the rain come down.
