http://courierjournal.com/localnews/...1124-3004.html Pornography foe arrested on prostitution charge By PATRICK HOWINGTON A vice chairman of a Louisville anti-pornography group was arrested Saturday night on a prostitution charge. Police took John W. Riddle, 65, into custody after seeing him in a car at 17th and Rowan streets with a "known prostitute," according to the arrest report. Riddle, of Clay Avenue in Okolona, is a vice chairman of the anti-pornography organization COMPASS. The organization, whose full name is Citizens of Metro for Property and Safety and Security, has been trying to stop adult bookstores and sex shops from opening near residential neighborhoods. Riddle resigned his post yesterday, "and we have accepted," said Barbara Davis, another vice chairman of the group. Police said that Riddle and Mary M. Perry, 42, were each charged with one count of prostitution after they told officers that Riddle had picked her up to have sex for money. Riddle had a bottle of Viagra in his possession, according to the police report. Riddle did not reply to a telephone message last night. His arrest "shocked me to the core," said Davis, a former Jefferson County commissioner who lives in the Okolona area. She said Riddle has long been active in church and community affairs. "I've known Mr. Riddle for a long time, and this is the last thing that we would have expected to happen," Davis said, adding that if the allegations prove true, "it just goes to show that even good men ... can get pulled into this pornography stuff." COMPASS was formed about a year ago in reaction to the opening of adult businesses on Preston and Dixie highways. The group has been lobbying elected officials to keep such businesses away from residential neighborhoods and businesses that cater to children and families. -------- this kind of thing makes me glad that i rarely lie. this guy... ugh. too bad we can't send people to jail for gross assholelsm! this is also why i am 98% against censorship if all people involved are willing participants. face it anti-pussy people. folk like sex. women love sex, men love sex, everyone loves sex. it is the ultimate high. so where in the hell was this nutjob coming from? hypocrite Last edited by phredgreen; 11-25-2003 at 10:37 AM.. |

He was not against prostitution....he was against pornography.
Guess having sex was ok as long as you did not film it.

So, its ok to pay for sex, but not to pay to watch sex. We've got a real active personality here, maybe he finds pornography to be too passive for his wild tastes.

Like one porn star said...the adult film industry is a billion-dollar industry....SOMEBODY is buying the stuff, and it can't only be seedy guys in overcoats.
Too many hypocrites like this going around... remember when Newt was caught in a sketchy situation shortly after criticizing Clinton...

The funniest thing is that he had a bottle of Viagra with him. Maybe his anti-porn stance is just a case of sour grapes

I have a quick story.....
I went to a bachelor party in Carson City where all 25 of us rowdies went to the whore houses. I admit, I would never, and did not participate in the goings on. One of the guys, however, paid over $3000 in 4 hours with 3 prostitutes. And, he was married. There was a lot of peer pressure from his closer friends, and a bottle of viagra was involved. But one thing I will never forget is the look on his face when he was sitting at the bar afterwards. The look of complete shame for cheating on his wife, the look of devestation, the look of doing something that he can never take back and will have to find some excuse for the missing $3000. That look is something I hope to never experience. It was almost painful to watch. There is no excuse though. Like the guy in this story, it will eventually catch up to you.

I dont buy that "look of complete shame." It doesnt take 4 hours and 3 hookers before you realize you made a mistake. It may have been a look of "how am i going to explain this" or "i hope i dont get caught" but after about an hour of ho-hoppin there is no shame.
Believe it or not, im sure your friend will treasure that memory for the rest of his natural life.
