It's pretty funny now, that my eldest son's friends come over, or vice versa, and some of the moms, MILF!! Of course I keep that to myself. A friends wife, who I knew before kids, and now after, she's a total MILF. I think though, the term refers to older than you, not moms of similar age, or younger. So in essence, there has to be some age difference, and being maternal.

I think the term has evolved to become generally accepted as a compliment.
After all, it basically just means that a woman looks good to younger men. Sure - it's different words - but it basically just means the same as "You're not getting older - you're getting better."

If you think about the verbage used, yes - it's crass, but c'mon - we can't take everything so literally. If I use the term MILF to describe someone, does it mean I literally would like to commit adultery with her? Hell, no - it just means she's an attractive woman who's no longer in her twenties.

At last, that's what it means to me - your results may vary.

I disagree, in today’s lingo, I think it IS in fact a compliment. Would your rather young men were saying your wife was a cow? I doubt it. I hear “milf” comments every time I go to the store with my wife. She hears it too, and she knows what it means, if anything it’s an ego boost for her. It doesn’t bother me either…..’cause she IS a “milf” and she’s all mine.

I've been called a MILF and like it. I'm all hubby's and everyone knows that I'm not going to go off and cheat on him. It's always been said in a compliment sort of way. Just that I'm hot enough for a younger guy to see me in a sexual way. I think that's pretty cool.

Definitely a compliment (crass and tasteless, agreed). A little weird and probably unnerving for the kid whose mom is is the MILF, but still a compliment.

I'm personally siding with Mephisto on this one - compliment or not, it's a bit too crass for me to accept hearing someone called a MILF to let it slide. Either way, it seems society has made up its mind, so not a lot I can do - short of a one-man rebellion. :D

I really see it as a compliment too. my g/f is definately one and has been referred to one before. she has always taken it as a compliment. It's not like they're saying she's a slut or anything, just that she's had a baby and is still very attractive... *shrug*
