Sand art video (cool performance art)
Thought I'd share this neat video of a perfomance artist working with an overhead projector and sand. It's truly amazing what he can do with it. He uses it like a giant free form Etch-a-Sketch on crack or something
http://my.so-net.net.tw/carl0726/sand.wmv it's an 18.4 meg video so sorry those without broadband.

Wow. That was incredibly unique.
The evolution of his work was amazing. Do you have any infomation about the artist so that I can see more of his stuff?

Yeah that's badass. I almost couldn't believe my eyes when he went from a ram to a monkey to a lion (is that what it was? I already forgot). Was that his name he wrote at the end?

I don't know who the artist was. What he wrote was SiCAF 2003. This was done at the Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival 2003. The transitory nature of what he did makes it so incredible. I really wish I knew the guy's name.
I checked out their web page but couldn't find out the artist's name. If anyone knows Korean here, they might have a better chance Update: Parangako is the artist's name. He's a hungarian animator. here's their english site: http://www.sicaf.or.kr/newsicaf2003/eng/e_about/ it has some other interesting art and pictures. http://www.sicaf.or.kr/NEW/ is their korean site

Is it just me, or was there a theme to the "random" drawings?
Seemed to me he was showing a history of our planet, from both an evolutionary and (I guess - mostly) biblical perspective. Your results may vary

Very impressive.
I've never seen this form of art before, and it's certainly nice to see something new and fresh. He is certainly a very talented individual.

Great find! This fellow, utilizing nothing but sand and light, captured my imagination. He's most unique and his work refreshing.
