What's friggen retarded is that they're trying to stop rape....hehe, letting off the "tension" would actually discourage rape...so they're just retarded imo.

Do you visit Two Keys often?

At first I was pissed, but then I figured that they were probably not well funded, so they wouldn't be publishing the pics in the newspaper or anything. So I guess it is no big deal. They still suck though.

Any thoughts on this whole phenomena?

You can do something about it if you're publicizing, selling it or somehow making profit off of it. You need a model release to do that kind of stuff. He can probably take them to court if he wanted, but then you have to ask yourself this: a) do they have the money to pay you compensation if they lose? b) do you have the money to afford a decent lawyer who will win the case? c) do you have the time to care about something that so far has not affected your life in any way?

That's pretty funny. If you are ashamed of going in there, or are going in there illegally, then you have something to worry about. Otherwise, enjoy the 15 minutes of fame!!!

Where I don't agree to their tactics from what I remember of my Law and Media classes as long as you are in public they can take your picture and publish them and you have no recourse. Having said that, don't give them the satisfaction of intimidating you into stopping you from doing what you want to do.
If it is any consolation to you the leader of such a group in Philadelphia was just arrested for soliciting a prostitute.

As far as someone taking the picture and publishing it, there are no real laws setup to protect people. Now if i'm shooting/taking pics of a model and she said I could not use the pics it would be different solely because I would most likely be using them to make a profit for my photography business which at the current time doesn't exist because I do not have a decent camera of my own since it was stolen.

But anywho... I would kick the people in the knee cap and steal their camera or I would make them open their camera to expose their film so they didn't have a picture of me because they were protesters.

But as I said... becasue of tourism and things like that unless it is copywrighted or being used for profit there is nothing that can really be done to protect someone from having their pics taken like that other than making the photog expose their film.

As far as I've studied anyway.

A bunch of people on some other boards found out about these guys. It turns out it is just one or two guys running the website out of a trailer park, and a bunch of people taking pictures for them. The guys is apparently a real idiot with a hick accent as they found out when they called him. I wouldn't worry.
Oh by the way, if your going to call him and complain, be sure to make jokes about how war against rape let it never end could mean that rape never ends etc, a bunch of jokes and debate about their name reportedly really pisses the guy off.

ahh nothing like people trying to shut down a business that provides thousands of jobs and makes billions of dollars a year just because they are ashamed of the fact that its natural to enjoy anything that has to do with sex. Some attractive girl is happy to pose in some magazine nude and well paid to do it. so of corse its a bad thing. its not like they are forced into that line of work. if someone took my picture walking into a adult bookstore i would walk up to them and ask they send me a copy. im a proud supporter of the adult entertainment industry. =)

I don't know how defamation works in the US, but in Blighty, you're safe to take pictures of whatever the fuck you please as long as it's on public property. So say I stood on the street by the car park near a porn shop and snapped you as you went in, you couldn't stop me taking the picture, you couldn't stop me publishing it.

Say you were on trial for murder and the local paper turns up to grab your picture as you come out of court. There's nothing, legally, you can do to stop them, and if you try and smash the camera or something, well you'll be up on a criminal damage charge as well. All you can do is try and cover your face.

Hahaha, that's pretty funny. I always carry a camera. I'd be the first one to take a picture of their car with flat tires... let me catch those fucker taking photos of me without my permission. Not that I would care who saw me go into a adult place, cause I don't. But the tactics they are using stink.

I would be kind of annoyed too, if it had been me.
Then again, it's not too much to worry about. There's nothing wrong or shameful about entering an adult bookstore, and it should only be detrimental if you're a high-profile person or celebrity.
If you're worried about where the image might end up, I would suggest writing to the organisation responsible and requesting that all copies be sent to you or destroyed, along with the negative, and advise them that you do not give permission for your image to be used in any media whatsoever.

In the U.S. anyone can take any photo whenever they want. The "taking" of the photo is not the issue. The "publishing" of it is the issue, and the web is a form of publishing. The way it works here is that if you put up a photo of an individual, who is the prime focus of the pic (not just a face in the crowd) and the person is not arguable a "public figure", and you associate the photo with any cause, commercial enterprise, etc. then you can be sued and you will probably lose. I'm not guessing here. This is not idle speculation. This is how it works here.

In response to that thing about the guy in Philadelphia.... he used to hang out on my college campus and scream at every minority about how they were going to hell and talk about how vile and disgusting we all were for thinking about breasts and penises.... then he got arrested for asking a 13-year-old boy if he could give him a blow job.... figures.

I would keep a camera with me next time I went to the store. If they take your picture, just back up a few feet and take theirs with the adult bookstore's sign in full view.
