McGriddles

are they any good? i haven't had a chance to try them.

discuss.

sillygirl 11-02-2003 03:19 PM

They're good, but they're really sweet... and your fingers will be disgustingly sticky/greasy afterwards. I liked it up until it was about half gone... then I felt sick to my stomach because it was so sweet (from the syrup in the pancake part). Everyone I know that has tried them has liked them.

gwr_gwir 11-02-2003 03:20 PM

depends on your tastes. Speaking as one who works at McDonalds, there's very few things I'd eat there - namely, breakfast, the pies, and whatever I make myself. McGriddles are basically small pancakes with maple syrup inside (think chocolate chip cookie). They're cooked for about 10 minutes straight out of the freezer, then allowed to cool for a few minutes before serving. I myself prefer them cold, though that's just me. but the point - taste is relative.

anti fishstick 11-02-2003 03:23 PM

they're alright. they're just a pancake with sausage and egg! what's the big huzzah?

BuddyHawks 11-02-2003 03:43 PM

Personally, I orgasm every time I have one. I just can't decide between sausage of bacon.

DokuPuffs 11-02-2003 03:53 PM

Bacon! Bacon is the greatest food in the world!

wario 11-02-2003 03:55 PM

I love them. Just make sure you're not too far from a toilet when eating them.

DokuPuffs 11-02-2003 03:57 PM

I've never had one because I don't really like McDonalds, but I've heard different things from everyone! Solution: Try it yourself! :)

Psivage 11-02-2003 04:12 PM

Bacon, egg, cheese biscuit I like plus the breakfast meal deluxe.

anleja 11-02-2003 04:29 PM

I stay away from McDonalds especially after eating those breakfast bagel grease things. I was sick all day long!

mvassek 11-02-2003 05:13 PM

I read somewhere that the Mc Griddles have between 900 and 1300 calories and the majority of those are from fat. Hell if you have one of those for breakfast and a Big Mac for lunch you wont' have to eat for the rest of that day and the next it will save a lot of money in groceries.

drawerfixer 11-02-2003 05:42 PM

I used to work at McRonalds as a summer job. I think they're pretty good, especially if you can make them for yourself.

Pure fat though.

carpal 11-02-2003 05:50 PM

I tried one for the first time yesterday. Actually, I tried two: my friend and I wanted to see what the deal was about and couldn't decide between bacon or sausage. WARNING: NEVER DO THIS. These things look small, but they're way dense. We should have known what we were in for when we felt how heavy the bag was.

Anyway, they're really good in a horribly disgusting kind of way. Try one and you shouldn't another for a good while. And yea, bacon is better.

battlemouth 11-02-2003 05:50 PM

i would describe it as a flavor-gasm

I prefer the regular sausage McMuffins myself. But I'm usually not awake before 10:30 or I'm at work and can't get them that often :(

PulpMind 11-02-2003 07:02 PM

the concept itself is so wrong and disgusting... so processed... I would only allow myself to eat it if I were to buy it in some place like Japan (where insane food is abundant)

rainheart 11-02-2003 07:13 PM

What?? I hate them.
I had one and it was disgusting-- not just because it's sweet and meaty or some other crap but because it's a McDonald's breakfast item, all of which suck.
Yea... "I'm hatin' it"

Fire 11-02-2003 07:33 PM

Sounds great- horible for you , but tasty- since discovering I am a diabetic I have had to swear off most tasty food, but have looked more into healthy eating and almost feel that its a good trade-off
sure, I miss sweets, and carbohydrate rich goodies, but some fast food like (mcgriddles) has ridiculous ammounts of bad stuff in it- the thing that we need to remember is that fast food is not good for you- this is not the responsibility of the restraunt, WE have to be responsible and treat it like anything else that is OK in moderation - so, if you like em, enjoy, but be aware of what they are (grease, fat , and sugar)

Fremen 11-02-2003 07:58 PM

Bacon McGriddles are yummy to my tummy.

Gungwhooza 11-02-2003 08:08 PM

I think they are really good. I get one almost everyday before i go to work...i hope they are here for good cus id be really mad if they took 'em away.

MikeyChalupa 11-02-2003 08:33 PM

Like an Egg McMuffin soaked in Maple Syrup. That's good eatin'!

don't get me started...

If I could eat them every morning I would...but obviously that wouldn't leave many mornings

dim5 11-02-2003 09:58 PM

I think they're tasty, but because whenever I usually get 'em, I'm on the way to work, it's a big pain in the ass because they're so sticky.

Bagel and cream cheese is less messy and a heck of a lot healthier. The McGriddle's a tasty, clog-your-arteries treat every now and then, tho'.

carpal 11-02-2003 11:13 PM

I'm always surprised when I hear people talk about there fast food habits. I love the occaisonal value meal and I can see McGriddles becoming a rare treat now and then, but I never think of any kind of fast food as a regular part of my diet. It kind of worries me when I hear that others do.

Eldaire 11-03-2003 12:13 AM

Pretty nummy I think.

yeah, well, there's really not much you can do, if they do decide to take them away. 3/4 of the "special" food at McDonalds is a timed promotion thing - as the Bratwurst were, here (dunno if you had them at other locations, as well), and as the Del Rio Salad, is, I believe. Also, same with the "Chicken McTenders" of the late 80s.

brandon11983 11-04-2003 11:03 AM

They are good, but I try to eat them in moderation due to the greasy, heart cloggy goodness of them. I think I prefer the biscuits over them though.

Midnight_Son 11-04-2003 11:52 AM

McGriddles suck, where did the Steak egg and cheese bagals go??
damn Micky-D's damn them to hell!

a1t3r3g0 11-04-2003 01:28 PM

I only got one once because I was out with some friends one morning and they all wanted to go there. Worst mistake!! I was sick to my stomach all day long!

dragon2fire 11-04-2003 05:02 PM

fast food no thanks

Reese 11-04-2003 05:46 PM

As long as they keep the croissanwich I'm happy as hell.. Or is that burger king.. Mc. D's has it too i think.. I can eat about a dozen of them.

happymaan 11-04-2003 06:12 PM

I think they're great. I thought they would be pretty weird, but it works for me. Also, I havn't found them to make my fingers too sticky.

Hrothgar 11-04-2003 11:04 PM

I haven't set foot in a McDonald's in a year. No desire to either.

What do you think the drive-thru is for? ;)

arcane 11-05-2003 01:05 AM

heh...sometimes i would just dip my sausage egg n cheese mc muffin in syrup *shrug*

mc donalds is great cos the food is cheap. i just cant eat it if im not going to be within a toilet an hour or two after i eat it. that food makes you crap faster than any other food. also i wont eat it prior to going on a date or being in the presence of a woman. (self explanatory)

A review of them... kinda.

Never tried them myself, although I would if they ever made it here.

Telethon 11-05-2003 05:53 PM

Mmmmmm, I love McDonalds...I don't think there 1 thing on its menu that tastes bad

Ganguro 11-05-2003 06:47 PM

man i LOVE EM..
sure they are sweet as hell.. but anything remotely similar to a pancake + anything else edible = love. I'd proally be able to wold down one a week. Other than breakfast.. i dont touch mcdonald's food though..I wish they sold breakfast all day :(

cliv 11-05-2003 07:44 PM

I didn't think I would like them, but after trying them, I do.

The Sausage one is the portable version of their Hotcakes and Sausage platter.
