Anyone get the munchies when drunk?
I have noticed that I dont really get the munchies when high (which, granted, is very infrequently), but I can eat like a champ when drunk. I always break out the cheez-its, triscuits, cereal, whatever, and eat WAY more than normal.
Last night I drank way too much wine with the parents and put down an 18oz steak, two baked potatoes, some salad, and two bowls of ice cream in 20 minutes. This is way more than I normally eat, and I wasnt even hungry. Anyone else get the munchies when drunk? |

I don't really get the munchies when I'm drunk but I really like a nice piece of ass though. It makes it better when she's not a bitch too.

I don't really crave foods when I've been drinking, but if any amount of it at all is planted in front of me, I will devour it in record time. I also take to smoking cigars when drunk for some reason, so maybe it's just an oral thing.

Don't get hungry WHILE I'm drinkin'. But anything near my mouth 6-8 hours later is in danger. I have a theory that alcohol provides me with some sugar that keeps me from being hungry, but that it drops off suddenly about 8 hours after I stop drinking. Hence the sudden hunger.

Yeah. I used to think that I only craved junk foods until the other night. That wine did me in, I was about to eat us out of the house.

Exactly the opposite for me. I could be ravenous, but after my first drink I'm not the least bit hungry. In fact, after that first drink, I could have a world class meal in front of me and I have zero interest in eating.

I eat some crazy stuff when I am drunk.
Sometimes, I go to the WAWA and get a huge sub with extra everything that falls apart all over me while I eat it. Other times we go to this diner in Georgetown, and get a late night drunken breakfast. I almost have to eat if I have been drinking a lot, or I won't sober up enough to be able to sleep. |

I'm another one that craves greasy food when drunk. Actually it doesn't happen every time I'm drunk... I don't really know what causes it; it doesn't seem to be what I'm drinking because I drink beer almost exclusively.

Yeah.. greasy food is the best when you're pissed.
There's these little fried triangle things (I think they're Indonesian or Indian.. someone told me once.. but I was pissed hehe) that I hate normally.. but when I'm pissed.. they're the best. Maccas (McDonalds) is also great. |

Once it gets late and I have been drinking for a wihle, I really need something greasy. Hamburgers, onion rings or tacos are the usual victims.

Yeah, its always nasty food that I crave.
For some reason, I have noticed the same thing when I get back from strenuous physical activity, usually mountain biking. My friend and I used to go to Taco Bell and order 10 bean burritos and eat them all, at 400 calories each. Im sure Plan9 is having a heart attack just reading that.

Yes anything greasy is good after some lagers... out on the town in my city it finally hit me that others also see a correlation between drunkeness and munchies.
For instance, kebab shops are open 24 hours near this student bar/club that has cheap drink night on Wednesdays. Also on the main "strip" in town it has takeaway food shops (like kebabs mmmmm) serving food well into the night.
