Legal Drinking Age in Indiana?
Im headed to Indiana two weekends after next, and ive been hearing a lot of conflicting stuff. Ive heard credible people tell me that the drinking age is 18 (im going to purdue univ. if it makes any difference) and then ive heard other people say its 21 everywhere. Does anyone from this area know for sure? Ive tried googling, etc, but ive come up w/ the same half and half stuff. Thanks for any help.

its 21 here in the states...
but then again its 21 in the Ukraine as well, and i know for FACT that if a 6 year old has enough for a litre of 100proof, they will sell it to him either way, does it really matter? you'll still be able to get booze if you want it...

All states in the US currently have the drinking age set at 21. Prior to the 80s, when Elizabeth Dole required that states raise their drinking age in order to receive federal highway funding, I believe some states had it set at 18.
A few years ago in Vermont, apparently Middlebury College looked into paying the state to have the drinking age lowered, but it turned out that the state got way more money in highway funds than the school could afford. |

Jeebus said it. Its 21. Regardless of what you hear, it is. The states are pretty well required to make it 21 in order to get highway funding.

I've been here for 3 years and never heard of the drinking age being under 21.
Not like underage students here don't find ways around the law...

I grew up about 30 miles from Purdue...it's 21.
The only place in the US I've seen that isn't too strict on drinking age is New Orleans. If you look 18-ish, you probably won't get carded. Of course, I don't condone any sort of illegal activity |

Yeah, here in Alabama you hear a lot of ads saying things like '18 to party, 21 to party harder"
So you can probably get into a bar pre-21, but can't drink there. And on a side note, I think the ass in World's King's avatar is the cutest ass I've ever seen. |

it's 21, and if you go in Harry's with a fake, you're gona get busted. If you are underage and just going to hang out before 9pm you should do fine in Jakes, and the bar next to Jake's (used to be Garcia's pizza/Pizzaking), Sgt. Preston's in Lafayette, and The Lafayette Brewing Company. I'd avoid Where Else?, the boiler room, or any Lafayette bars such as The Clubhouse and The Knickerbocker. You might have some luck at the places by the mall such as Applebees and OCharlies.. but i wouldnt count on it.
Have fun, be safe.. it isnt Grand Prix season already is it? |
