Man Cuts Off His Genitals to Win Sympathy

DAR ES SALAAM (Reuters) - A Tanzanian man cut off his genitals in an attempt to win sympathy from creditors after squandering their money on prostitutes and alcohol, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The 24-year-old reached the decision after realizing he could not pay back millions of shillings lent to him by friends and relatives to invest in a business venture.

The Guardian newspaper said the man's condition was improving after he received treatment at his local hospital in the east African country's northern Manyara region.

The report said it was the second such incident in the area in two months. Another man slashed off his genitals upon failing to settle a 300,000 shilling ($287) debt.

i guess it doesn't really matter just how bad his situation is to us, but rather how bad it was to him. i can't see ever cutting my nuts off, but it's a good real-worl parallel to that joke in which a husband who plays around awakes to find his dick stuck in a vice, a hacksaw in his hand, and flames running up the walls.

I guess he figured since he spent their money on prostitutes (sex) he'd cut it off to show he was sorry and to repent for what he had done. I don't feel sorry for him. Not because what he did may be seen as stupid but because he did it on purpose, it's what he wanted.
