rats and sperm
Interesting fact that I wanted to share-- female rats can hold sperm and fertalize their eggs when they want to. If there is a food shortage or something they usually won't fertalize. If human women could do that, the world would be a better place.

Well i guess you learn something new everyday lol
|
That's strangely arousing...
I was just kidding. Stop looking at me. |
That'd be neat... More dumbasses would then use Condoms.. As they'd be afraid the chick would go psycho after sex and get pregnant... That'd be nice! The world would get better! :)

omg, those little creatures are such incedible survivors.
i donīt quite see how so many people out there really hate them... |
I love them. They are me favorite pets. Too bad they die so fast.

/me imagines a horde of rats heave-ho'ing a couch outside with Fremen on it :)

Rats are pretty cool... and they do make fun pets...
my pet rat back in the day learned how to open his cage from the inside... so i had to safety pin it closed or he would get out... jump down from the cabinet and make a beeline for my room... always my room... and he would come if you called his name!! Kangaroos can stop a fetus's development mid pregnancy if theres a food shortage... and then continue it when the food supply is back... |
JStrider: How the hell does that work?!?

i think its a nice thought haha my own personal storage rat would be nice too
|
how long can the sperm survive? I thought the lifespan was only a few days... or can they actually preserve the sperm ?
|
Another interesting fact is that not all animals ovulate spontaneously on a schedule like humans. Some animals like cats and rabbits are induced ovulators and only ovulate in response to copulation or manual stimulation similar to it.

Interesting bit of information, I had no idea they were able to do that.
|
Kangaroos do something similar. If I remember correctly they can store sperm from different partners and use which one they feel fit.. then again I might be wrong..

You know whats better than a real rat, a fake one!! Someone down the hall of my dorm has one that just sits at the front door. Whenever a new person walks by they just jump, it never gets old...lol
|
For some reason, I find this disturbing, interesting, but disturbing.

And tenacity. |
Thats pretty cool, as you said the world would indeed be a better place if human women could do that.
|
It might not be though. Women might feel much safer with unprotected sex and having sex in general. I really don't know which keeps them using condoms, STDS or pregnancy. If that was true, we could have a much worse off world.
|
That is interesting indeed. I came across another interesting tidbit while watching discovery channel the other day.
It said a woman is more likely to get pregnant if she orgasms. They did a ultra-mega closeup of it.. very interesting... I think I'll do a little research and see if I understood that right... |
