It seems the stars alignment is often given credit for many things. Most of the time the instances are either very good or very bad.

For example in the last two weeks my car has developed problems twice, my girlfriends car has done the same and the clothes washer has joind in. It feels the stars alignment is not in my/our favor, at least as far as mechanical things are concerned.

Maybe I just have bad luck, do you ever feel that the stars are aligned for or against you??

being the hardcore atheist i am i dont believe in "allignment" just good and bad luck!

there are probably patterns in things.
we are a deluded species, so we wouldn't have much idea which patterns were actually there or which we are just making up.
that's the main issue with us.
we have no idea when we are deluded - and most of the time, we are fooling ourselves.

I would like to think I control my own fate rather than the stars.

If feel that way sometimes. I don't actually believe it, but it does feel like it from time to time. Very often, it feels like life moves in a cycle. Just 3 months ago, I was at the top of my game. Lately I can't buy a damn break.

It is kind of nice to think of it as a cycle because I realize my luck will change (I mean it always has before).

Quite possibly you have a suck ass car that was due for maintenence.

Hmmm . . . in my experience, this is life's way of telling you you're about to become unemployed.

Well considering most of the planets alignment just a short time ago,
and nothing happened, I wouldn't give much credit to this idea.

Plus Mars just came closer than in thousands of years,
and nothing happened.

The planets would have more immediate influence on us,
than any distant star.

Bad luck is just an inconvenience.

Sure. I think people are looking for some catastrophic results, but that aint gonna happen. its more subtle. Take a read of Susan Miller at astrologyzone.com for some info. For the record, she has nailed a few really important dates for me. And I found our afterwards (I dont read it every month.) I thought that was pretty freakin cool.

Oh yea the stars can definatley align against you. :rolleyes: I am amazed that people believe that stuff.

It is easy to focus on the negative when "bad luck" things are happening. It could be just as easy to focus on the positive and downplay the negative, if we practiced it more. Stars aligned, no, it is all a state of mind.
