According to the FCC, you can say "fucking" on the air now; see the article No FCC Action Vs. Bono Over Naughty Word. The short version, if you don't want to click,

I'm really fucking amazed that fucking, in the non-verb sense, is fucking acceptable. So I could say that girl is fucking amazing so long as I make sure that people know that I'm talking about her looks and not her sexual functions. Fucking awesome!

I searched the FCC page, but couldn't find the relevant quote. I was wondering if they actually used the word "fucking" in their writeup, or if it was "f---ing" as shown in the news quotes. I'll try again tomorrow.

wow I was just having a conversation with a friends today about the very word fuck and all it's different meanings. It really is a great word because you can use it in places you normally wouldnt even put a fucking word and it would sound fuckin fine.

i think that swearing should be allowed on air, so its up to the individual to decide whether they should use such language.

remmeber when they decided that "shit" was okay" and remember when SouthPark had the episode dedicated to saying shit as many times as they could? do you remember the moral of the story?

I remember being a young child, and the POWER that cuss words had... my lips trembled and my body quivered if I should try and sputter out a "fuck you" or even "asshole"... the reaction to these words by other people was just as dramatic.. ... now these words fly out of my mouth as quickly as any other noun/verb/pronoun/adjective, and hardly create a stir... even "cunt" is becoming quite blah as it's use changes from harsh degredation to humerous satire of the female flower...

on a side note... you can always say ANYTHING on television if it's in the right context.. ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, WB, UPN, etc will NEVER be in that context though because they're utter shit. PBS on the other hand... if anyone's been watching the special on the history/culture of Blues, then your ears are probably bleeding
