Too many fuckin mesquitoes!!!
 

Dammit these fuckers are everywhere now!! The health department are supposedly spraying all the areas of Texas especially in standing water and I ain't seen one a those fuckin trucks yet.

And now they fuckin carry West Nile Virus which supposedly kills people in like 5 fuckin days.

Back at this town I used to live in there were these huge fuckin bugs that when I first saw em thought they were enormous fuckin mesquitoes. I was like "HOLY SHIT!!" and I'd smash the fuckers. Then later on I found out they were something the townspeople called "Mesquito Hawks" and they actually kill mesquitoes. The insects are actually called Crane Flies and fuck don't I wish we had a shit load a those here in South Texas cause I ain't about to fuckin catch a virus from a stupid fuckin annoying little bug. Mesquitoes are one fuckin insect of few (cockroaches too) that I can not for the life of me see their purpose for living. I mean at least other pests like Spiders and Ants do more good than harm. Like killing fuckin mesquitoes. We need to get one a them fuckin electricity lamps or some shit. Gettin ridiculous.

West Nile takes a little longer than 5 days and normaly only kills people with low immune systems from what I hear like the elderly.

But your right there is no damn reason for the buggers... I think scientist should study em and find a way to rid us of them, or find a use for them.

roaches on the other hand... we should start building our homes out of those heh they are said to be able to survive the radiation of a nuke so if we had roach coated homes.....not like most of the south doesn't already but hey who know heh

Skeeters are not as bad as last year. I'm in south Texas as well. But at least my city has the skeeter trucks rolliing through. Heard one last night.

Colorado is the West Nile king in this country. Over 1000 people here were infected, and about 40 died. All the people that died were elderly people, and I believe most of them had compromised immune systems from other illnesses. Still, I don't know where mosquitos fit in the food chain and they are irritating as hell.

Well it's a well known fact that mequitoes lay their eggs in standing water. Anytime you've ever seen one of those huge abandoned paint buckets or old tires sitting around with a gallon of rain water in them and little organisms swimming around in it that resemble tadpoles they're actually mesquito larva and other micro-organisms so best thing to do is tip the fucker over and let them die before they grow into the annoying little pests they're destined to be. The other day there were a whole bunch of em gathered around the light on our front door and my mom in a stroke of "genius" decides to start spraying them with the garden hose. I had to yell at her to stop. The problem is simple really there are a few things they are attracted to. For one, of the many colors of the rainbow they are attracted to blue the most. They also are fond of people who've just eaten bananas too for some reason. So...all you blueberry wearin banana eaters will suffer the most. Lastly the other thing that attracts them is the carbon monoxide that we exhale everytime we breath. So if yer town is out of Mesquito repellant like my town is....all you have to do is simply not wear blue, eat bananas, or breathe and mesquitoes will pay you no mind. Simple right? :) Well I for one just can't give up bananas...I'm sorry I just love the fuckin things I'll just have to suffer the consequence and wear long sleeve shirts and pants for the time being. Winter will come soon and hopefully they'll freeze to death :D

If you've never heard of a Thermocell, you need to check it out. It's a small device that uses a butane cartridge to heat up a repellant pad. They're a little expensive ($20-30), and take a few minutes to start, but man they work. We have em bad in south GA, but the Thermocell will repel 99%. Hunters really like them because they don't give off an odor.

Yeah, i would have to agree that mosquitos do suck....the bites are no fun to live with....

it seems to me as if the mosquitos in houston are much worse this year than last, practically everytime i go outside i get bit. and i hate when you're in the car and you see them on your windshield, little shits.

once i spent a few weeks living at my aunt's house in taiwan, and i didn't understand how i was getting bit by mosquitos so much in a closed house, so i looked around and found tiger mosquito larvae breeding in one of those decorative water things that trickle and make water sounds (it wasn't running). Nasty black, little wriggling things... i told them to dump the water out and the mosquito problem disappeared.

oh, and i hate when you just randomly scratch yourself and get a bloody mess from a squashed mosquito...

I hope I don't seem too picky. Just felt like I should point out a couple things. Bananas contain potassium and I believe it's when you are low in potassium that they aren't interested in you. Also we do not exhale carbon MONOxide, normally anyway. We exhale carbon DIOxide. Yes they are attracted to carbon dioxide. They are not attracted to carbon monoxide and cigarettes produce carbon monoxide and they will stay away from you. Just a thought

Mosquitos are good for one thing. The male of the species feeds only on nectar and so help to pollanate flowers. Ironically it's the FEMALES that are the villinous blood suckers.
