Is This Legal????
I just found out that I have really bad credit....Now i ask myself...how is this possible? I just recently turned 18. The credit report says I have a delinquent capital one credit card dating back to 6/2001......WTF?!?!?! I WAS 16 YEARS OLD!!! and they said my mother was the co-signer...now even if this was allllll true, how could I have had a credit card?? and if my mother did co-sign wouldn't all delinquencies be filed under her name?

i think they way it might work is that once you turn 18, you get the credit rating, and since it's supposedly unpaid, you have bad credit
before you turned 18, your mother would have been the one raking up the bad credit too, probably. I don't think having bad credit has an age bearing though. They just need a co-signer because you can plead taht you are under 18 and not responsible for shit like that in court, which will help you a lot, and you are a young offender, so the bank most likely wouldn't get their money. The bad credit can probably stick with you no matter what age you are though. I suggest just focusing on the fact that this card was never given to you. Ask your mother about it. Maybe she put your name on something just incase of emergencies or something. |
good call...i might just end up paying the $600....i dunno if its worth it though...will my credit be okay again?

It will be a lot better if you do pay than it will be if you don't.
