Surrealistic Art
Since this isnt my work, I cant post it in the Artwork section. If mods wanna move it, go ahead.
http://www.wwwcomcom.com/home.html A prime example of the type of artwork I enjoy. Can anyone else provide any links for other styles such as this? It would be greatly appreciated. |
Naoto Hatori. It looks like vintage surrealism, but with a very contemporary sort of techno-organic sense and a nasty sense of humor. The pieces that play on the Mona Lisa are hysterical!
The surreal elements owe a debt to Dali, it looks like. I assume you're familiar with at least Dali's more popular works? I'd suggest you look deeper into his oeuvre--beyond the melting clocks, at least. You'll find a lot of similarities in terms of human body distortion and the intersection of random elements. |
love that page-it is truly wonderful

I Like it. Very Interesting.

Very interesting. Cool stuff.
And ratbastid's right, there are a lot of similarities to Dali. One of the best things I ever did was a project in a high school humanities class on Dali - you'd be amazed how many different styles he's done once you look "beyond the melting clocks" as ratbastid said. Because of this, Dali is not only my favorite surrealist artist, but my favorite artist hands down. Probably won't beat the "complete works" book set that my dad has which got me interested in Dali in the first place, but here's what seems like a pretty cool webpage to browse through many of his works: http://www.dali-gallery.com/ |

Some of them are pretty awesome. But some kinda creep me out at the same time.

Shouldn't that be surreal or surrealism?
