Sorry, no dice. Maturity does play a factor, if that can serve as a guess.

Is there anyone else who would like to ascertain Jetstream's true age?

There could a prize...hmm...

But I took time to analyze your post, and found inside the intricately-phrased jab at my post-digging efforts on this once deceased thread.
You truly hit the nail on the head, Hal(x)

But don't jawanna try?
C'mon, it'll be fun.

First, Jetstream, you get a hug from me! Or at least a thumbs up, since I don't know how to do a hug yet in smilies.

Second, Jetstream, don't give up - this board has much to offer you in your journey through your studies. There are tons of very educated folk here who can assist you in your journey, so you'd be wise to search them out.

Third, I'm 44 years of age and have traveled a bit of this world.

There.

Edited to read: Oh, now that I've read the rest of the thread, I see that you're really a bit of a kid who is hoping to get a rise out of us older ones. Dude, if you're really just 18, then go play somewhere else until you grow up enough so you can come back here.

Seriously.

18 is legal here, no problem with that.

Jetstream, I still don't see what your point was, sorry to say. There are tons of 18 year olds here. Graduating from college, yes I know a few of those, too. Do you feel insecure about your age around here?

I'm 27 for the time being, accelerating on the downhill to 30...

30 and couldn't care less. I'll be 31 in August and there's no stress about that either.

People still card me for lottery tickets so I'm guessing I don't look it.
Or they're just being nice. I wish I looked under 18.
