Highest post count was at 5am?

Maybe it's just the time zone this forum uses but I found that this was funny:

Most users ever online was 506 on 07-22-2003 at 05:13 AM.

Is everyone here an insomniac or what? (I am)

EDIT: OK, maybe not that weird, by my calculations it was 11:13PM central time, so change of subject a bit.. what time zone is this on? Halx's time? If so, where does he live?

drawerfixer 08-07-2003 12:18 AM

Well, it's 2:15 here and I'm blurry eyed and brained, so I really have no idea what's going on. However, Halx lives in Cali, but I don't know what timezone the server is on.

ANYWAY, back to what I was posting about, you should visit the TFP Insomniac Club

I'm not one normally, but can't sleep tonight. Work tomorrow won't be fun.

I understand - I hate to derail my own thread, but I always feel like when I stay up so late and wake up late in the afternoon the next day, I've wasted the day because I can't do anything before I go to work

Heh, I know exactly what you are talking about. I stayed up _way_ too late last night playing Halo with friends, and ending up sleeping until 1 PM. By the time I was fed, showered, and coherent, the clock read 3 PM. Basically an entire day wasted. In fact, I was so pissed about it I set my alarm for early this morning, but seeing as how it's 3 AM right now and my body isn't slowing down, I don't think it'll wake me.

Being bored, I dug through the options and I think the standard timezone for the server is GMT.

It would be 9:13 pm. his time. He lives on the west coast. It's 12:13 my time.

The fact it says 5:03 AM for you, and you being in Omaha, says that your Time Zone for this site is set incorrectly.

You set the site time for where you live - so for me it says most users was at 11:13 PM

YourNeverThere 08-07-2003 03:14 AM

man, if anyone should be in the TFP Insomniac Club is should be me, my sleeping times are like this:
I start off normal, like lets say 10 pm to about 9 am. Next night, up till 12, up at 11, next night up till 2 then up at 2 and so one, till im falling asleep at like 7 pm and up at 4 am, then slowly back up to falling asleep at 10 and up at 9., Very odd

The world runs on Greenwich Mean Time based on the Prime Meridian. That's the 0 latitude that runs through Greenwich, England. Why there? They put the lines on the globe and they picked it.
So, everything runs on this time so everyone's on the same page. The internet, military, airlines, ect. It's the whole reason for time zones in the first place. Uniformity instead of local standards which are different for everyone. You just + or - hours depending on how far away from 0 you are.

Hey tricks -- Thanks for the lesson. ;)

cchris 08-07-2003 06:41 AM

All times are GMT +10 hours. The time now is 01:41 AM.

Now that's confusing cause it is actually 12:41 AM.

The_Dude 08-07-2003 09:26 AM

i stay up a lot, but i also am logged in all the time.

sstennes 08-07-2003 09:28 AM

My guess is it was in UTC so it was really like 11:30 pm EDT

Macheath 08-07-2003 04:17 PM

Time zones?

The TFP is being taken over by Australians.

Nobody notices cos we get more and more like Americans every day.

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 11:59 AM.
