Deupty Sheriff busted here

A Deupty sheriff that works on our concrete crew on his offtime told us today that another deupty sheriff is on the lamb.

Seems loser boy decided to chase after to motorcyclers going an 80 in a 70 on I-20 here in Louisiana..

in the chase one of the bikers wrecked.. the sheriff left the person on the side of I-20 as he persued the other biker.. in the aftermath.. the one biker got away.. and the one what crashed died of his injuries.

WTF!!! that sheriff should be hanged.. this comes on the fact that Ted Riser .. head sheriff of Webster Parish is running for his position and looks like he is getting yet another lawsuit.

old Ted boy is in the outs this time it seems.. pulling over a bunch of teens for no reason giving them tickets for lame excuses.. squealing tires.. loud music.. but yet crap like drugs .. drunk driving and such are rampant.

YourNeverThere 07-31-2003 05:31 PM

oh goodness, that story is horrible, we have alot of thoses types of cops around me, stupid red-neck vengence sort of types, they hate people that arnt cowboys and they love to exersize their power.
Grr it makes me mad, stupid might makes right assholes.

tardka 07-31-2003 05:57 PM

My town is surrounded by others with cops like that, somehow mine figured out how to run well though.

The_Dude 07-31-2003 06:30 PM

well, i'm gonna have to defend the sheriff in this situation.

main reason being, a redneck sheriff (who are mostly elected and NOT appointed) prolly has no knowledge of medicine and could have done little to help the crash victim. this is assuming that the sheriff called this in and asked for an EMT to come to the scene of the crash.

and one more thing, they should'nt have been running from the cops.

StormBerlin 07-31-2003 09:15 PM

i agree with The_Dude, he probably wouldn't have been much of a help.

guthmund 07-31-2003 10:39 PM

Did he call for help?

I don't know how it is where you live, but I know the city boys around here all have to take a class that explains the basics of "situational emergency medicine."

I inquired into being a police officer.....what?!?!

I also know that most of the state police in the area are taken from the "local crop"; the tactics have come under scrutiny in the paper once or twice......

Seems like a stupid reason to die.....

Phaenx 07-31-2003 10:56 PM

I'm frankly glad the guy killed himself rather then someone else. Don't run from the cops, this would have been a 50 dollar ticket and the dumbass decided to run. Good riddance.

clavus 07-31-2003 11:10 PM

Let me get this straight. A guy who was violating the law, and fleeing an officer managed to kill himself while the officer chased another criminal. So the cop should be executed?!

I'd have to disagree.

BTW, I've never met a cop who didn't have emergency first aid training. I don't know if it would have been any good treating the much-feared Harly-anal-insertion-injury, however.

gov135 08-01-2003 06:42 AM

The cop made a mistake. He should be punished accordingly.

His job went from pursuing suspects to aiding an accident victim the minute that bike crashed. An injured person takes precedence over a speeding ticket and resisting violation. He failed to consider this.

Moreover, I'm surprised to see people defending bad work from our police forces. If you need to get rid of that holier-than-thou attitude of these guys that can make them bad, asshole cops, you need to call them out on the carpet every time they do something wrong, with real consequences. Otherwise, they get the untouchable air about them that can go to their heads.

johnnymysto 08-01-2003 06:53 AM

Hmm...If you run from the cops, you have just escalated your crime. You've also roused suspicion. Now instead of just being a speeder, you're making the cops wonder why you want to run. Do you have drugs? Are you fleeing the scene of a crime? So now it is more important for the cops to catch you. And let's not forget that the cops can call for an ambulance to aid a victim. Now, if this PARTICULAR cop didn't radio for a medic, then I agree that he should be punished. Obviously he didn't do SOMETHING he was supposed to do, or he would be running.

ace81385 08-01-2003 08:26 AM

WoW im glad i dont live in Middle America where this is common . Though I leave near NJ not in it . Police brutality is not uncommon there LOL

CAN_skate 08-01-2003 08:35 AM

Didn't you all see the Seinfeld ending?
Sheriff Buttfuck should do time!

Honestly, one guy totally fucks himself, and you don't stop to help him and continue that fucking shit.
No biker is going to hurt nobody on no highway.
Oh shit, that biker hit my $60,000 suv. Now it's dented.
I'm rambling.
And it's all because I think cops suck sometimes, and when theys a hillbilly too then, yeah, fuck that.

But yeah, biker should've stopped, so you can't blame the cop for him crashing, but he can be blamed for not helping.

crayzeeredhead 08-01-2003 09:08 AM

Why are so many people so anti-police. Police officers voluntarily put themselves in dangers way every day, so that we can live safer lives. They live in an extremely stressful environment, every call, every traffic stop, every moment can turn instantly into a life or death situation. There are a LOT of very very bad people in the world, and I believe our society breeds that kind of people... thats another post someday... and the police have to deal with that. Add to that the fact that HEY, POLICE ARE ONLY HUMAN.. and humans make mistakes, it cant be helped. Now, when a mistake is made, deal with it.. but dont persecute ALL police just because one or two make stupid mistakes. YES they should be above making mistakes, but that would mean they have to be perfect, which is impossible.

OK, nuff rambling...

As for this officer who left someone behind.... you have to understand local policy. Many police departments have a policy that once pursuit is started, it can only be abandoned by order of a higher authority, or apprehension of the suspect.
Think on what happened... two bikers are gonna be pulled over.. they decide more or less "Fuck that cop" and run. At this instant, in my opinion, they abandon all rights that normal, law abiding people have. When you decide to be a criminal, you dont deserve to be treated with respect. (im sorry, but I think the bleeding heart liberals who cry about criminals being treated bad should be shot by the criminals who are being treated bad, cuz the criminals dont give a rats ass about people anyway.. if they did they wouldnt be criminals.)

So, these bikers run. One of them is too stupid to be able to handle his vehicle, and wrecks. The officer is in pursuit of the other suspect still, who is a potential loose cannon. He can potentially cause greater damage..running through intersections, recklessly endangering other lives through unsafe driving practices. So you have one biker, off the road and potentially injured (the cop CANNOT know the extent of injury to the wrecked biker) and another who can potentially harm or kill innocent people. I applaud this officer for his decision to continue pursuit. The criminal paid the ultimate price for running from the police, with his life... that was his decision... and he suffered the consequence for it. If he had just pulled is ass over in the first place, he would be alive and well today. Blaming the police officer for the death of the biker is WRONG, UNJUST, and just goes to show how fucked up people would have the world. Persecute the man who was serving and protecting our citizens, and celebrate the criminal for breaking the law. go figure

johnnymysto 08-01-2003 09:24 AM

Well said, redhead. I'll vote for you when you run for office.

Bingo! You actually get it. In Omaha, if anyone is injured in, or property damages result from, any police pursuit...the city is required to pay for damages. What kind of shit is that? That discourages the police from engaging in any pursuit. Don't want a ticket...just drive away, the police won't pursue. Just stole this car and don't wanna go to prison...just drive away, the police won't pursue. Society is going to Hell, and I want off the bus.

dogzilla 08-01-2003 04:46 PM

If the bikers insisted on starting a chase and one of them crashed, too bad. Don't want to risk being injured or killed in an accident, don't run from the cops.

Pragma 08-01-2003 04:52 PM

Exactly. Though I've not been pulled over in my life (knock on wood), if a cop pulls me, I won't run. Why? I don't want to risk other people's lives by violating the speed limit even more while trying to lose the cop. Trying to ditch cops is just stupid, even if you do manage it, chances are that they'll pass the word to be on the watch for cars matching your description.

Of course, that's not to say I obey the speed limit. About the only time I ever drive close to the speed limit is when cops are near.

As for the biker who died - sucks to be him, but when he chose to not stop, he just forfeit his life. Sure, the cop should have radioed the location of the downed biker to call for backup and an ambulance, so he's partially at fault, but the cop still had a responsibility to catch the other biker and remove the thread to public safety.

Contami22 08-01-2003 07:03 PM

The guy screwed up so therefore he should be punished. But when you flee from someone on a crotchrocket i dont see what else you are asking for other than a case of paralysis and a side of brain damage.

....DITTO....

macmanmike6100 08-02-2003 06:27 PM

if the cop didn't call in for help, he's wrong. however, I think that it probably was the right choice to keep chasing the other guy, as the other guy was still on the run.
