Gay guys in the men's room

This may be a juvenile question, but I really am curious. When gay guys are in a public restroom, standing at the urinal, with or without some type of barrier, is it common for them to get aroused? I've never been hit on while taking a leak or anything, but there is this guy who is gay and we were just in the bathroom together.

I know, being hetero, that if I was standing next to a stall where a good looking strange woman had her panties down and her skirt up, I'd probably be sportin' some wood.

Feedback?

Derwood 07-09-2003 08:48 AM

Juvenile? Sorta. Ignorant? Yes.

Unless someone is aroused by the sight of urination, then no. I like seeing naked women, but I'm not really into women peeing.

But this goes to a deeper misconception among hetero men that all Gay guys are ever thinking about is having sex with men. Not true in the least. Additionally, gay men are among the most picky when it comes to the looks of their sexual partners, so odds are that they wouldn't be into you in the first place (my apologies if you are a muscular stud).

I know so many ugly straight guys whose attitude is "I hate gay guys because they all want to jump my bones." This is hilarious. Take the number of women who are banging down your door to fuck you, divide it by 10, and that is how many gay guys would give you a second glance.

hmmm.

0 divided by 10....damn.

If a gay guy gets his jollies by watching me pee, whatever. As long as he doesn't strike up conversation and break one of the man rules!

Perfect.

Not gay, but I'd like to think I'm fairly tolerant, especially considering I'm military. Acceptance (or at least tolerance) comes from understanding.

If your conception is that every gay guy is out to jam their dick in any man ass they can find, starting with yours, then you will NEVER understand gay men. You will shun and fear them. All they want, as any persecuted minority wants, is to be accepted, treated equally and fairly, and respected.

I can't force you to, but you can at least try to keep the mind open and the mouth shut.

I need my space when im doin my business :D I dont care whether you're gay or not... Just gimme my space

WhoaitsZ 07-09-2003 09:17 AM

i doubt it. arousel is caused by many things, though. you could be thinking of something totally elsewhere and be aroused... and there could be a dude next to you who now thinks he turned you on.

it happens and means nothing.

clavus 07-09-2003 09:20 AM

Hey wait a minute, y'all! Let's not all jump on blkdmnd because he asked an honest question.

I have some friends who are gay. I know one guy in particular who is NOT picky. He DOES like to peek. He's a self-described slut and DOES want to fuck everything that moves.

But he's probably the exception to the rule, and I have no idea about his wood-sporting-peeing situation.

blkdmnd 07-09-2003 09:20 AM

Gimme a break will you? The question was directed at the notion of becoming aroused by being near exposed genetalia of the sex that you find attractive. Gay or hetero.

While the act of urinating in itself is not necessarily a turn on, the exposure part is what I was referring to.

PS. Thanks Clavus

My friend told me about a rest stop he went to on his way from VA to LA. Some dude stood next to him at a stall while he was pissing and said "wow, did that hurt?" talking about his pierced cock. My friend thought it was weird but didn't say anything but "No, It didn't." Then my friend looked over and saw the dude stroking his knob while looking at his dick.
So basically it depends on you, and the gay person at hand. Most gay guys I know aren't thinking about stabbing your poo with their cock just because you are a guy. And even if they were...who cares...you should be flattered that someone thinks of you that way...better someone than no one.

edit: that way meaning a sexual way

Looking at another man's equipment in the next urinal over is probably the quickest way to get your nose broken.

Had an experience similar to that some years ago. I'm thinking, though, that rest stops are different from regular public restrooms, in that regard.

Why the fuck then do I get checked out by gay dudes all the time while I can barely get a chick to notice me?? Is it possible to be hot for gay dudes while ugly for straight girls? Did I get ripped off in life??

guthmund 07-09-2003 03:51 PM

I don't like folks to watch me urinate. That's why I'll pick the stall everytime :)

I don't mind sharing a bathroom with anybody as long as they stay the prescribed 5 feet away while I'm doing my business. Otherwise I get nervous and am likely to piss all over you :p

Of course that's just me....

YourNeverThere 07-09-2003 04:11 PM

ya, i think what the origanal question was, and then what he came back to say again, had nothing to do with peeing really, or looking at other men peeing, or peeing all over everything, or anything involving peeing. Ive thought about this to, but in places like change rooms, would it not kick ass changing in a girls change room? surrounded by girls? i know that i would be aroused and wonder if guy men are too, and if they are, then does it turn out to be an akward situation? your the only dude with a boner in a room of naked men. Im sorry if people find that ignorant, im not gay so i find it hard to know what it feels like to live a gay lifestyle, and im curious of some of the little things like that.

blkdmnd 07-10-2003 04:23 AM

YourNeverThere understands the question and probably used a better example. The changing room, or maybe even the locker room at a gym.

I think the gay guys probably do get a bit tingly in those situations. Not a problem for me as long as I don't get hit on.

Meridae'n 07-10-2003 04:43 AM

No way, even if they were into that shit, the mere surrounding would be enough to put them off. Safe as houses i reckon...

A bathroom is one of the least arousing places I can think of. A locker room, however. :D

Spinach_Indeed 07-10-2003 08:09 AM

I'll have to say, I'm a bisexual, and the idea of even glancing at another fellow's shlong in the bathroom has never crossed my mind. I agree with Seretogis, in that the bathroom is probaly the least arousing places I've been in. I think Most Bisexuals or Homosexuals know better than to hit on the guy who's peeing beside them.

Sparhawk 07-10-2003 09:03 AM

I think straight men and women really get the short end of the stick in the modern locker room. The only fair thing would be to go with the 'Starship Troopers' example of communal bath/locker rooms. :)

KeyserSoze 07-10-2003 10:13 PM

If you're going to be thinking in your head (the little one) that some guy is checking your joy stick out while you are taking a piss.......won't you find it difficult to piss??

I find it hard enough to piss when Im at an Angels game in a crowded restroom and in a hurry to piss before the next inning starts

cheerios 07-10-2003 10:56 PM

well, here's my 2 cents. Done the locker room thing. and honestly, you just don't look. or I didn't, anyway. the other girls thought I was weird enough, shunned me enough, without adding something as unacceptable as having a crush on one or being attracted, even. so, I found my little corner of hte room, got dressed, and got the fuck outta there. I think the situation matters. You don't fuck up a working relationship with people you will see daily, who have to work with you, who will TALK ABOUT YOU BEHIND YOUR BACK. Plain and simple.

macmanmike6100 07-11-2003 12:08 AM

I can't imagine that it's any more common for a gay guy to be aroused by another man peeing than it is for you to be aroused watching a girl pee (I know that some of you are into that, but for the rest...).

However, even without the peeing, I don't think that a gay guy would get aroused by that, especially if he doesn't even know you.

Plus, a glimpse at your limp leaking dick just isn't going to do it for them.

MacGnG 07-11-2003 12:26 AM

all most all guys dont look anyway. gay guys probly wouldnt hit on u while u were peein anyway, would u hit on a chick while she was peein, well maybe but come on.

beejay 07-11-2003 05:51 AM

There's a whole underground thing in public restrooms for casual sex. It's related to glory holes and tea rooms. I don't know from experience, but have seen stuff on the net that explain all of the hand signals, etc. So, if you do see a guy checkig out out thang, make sure you don't stop in midstream and run into the handicapped stall to "get rid of him." You will probably have him join you!

Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

human 07-11-2003 06:12 AM

One of the guys on my swim team is gay and we over many, many beers had a similar discussion one time. The summary was, most of the guys that he knew and hung out with just didn't really find straight guys sexually attractive. They could appreciate hot guys, but didn't really want to do anything. Best way I can relate it is if I see an attractive woman who is beautiful, but not my cup of tea so to speak.

Reading further into that, it's pretty likely that you are not getting checked out at the urinal, unless of course you are in a gay bar... Then all bets are off. :)

yoshi 07-11-2003 02:11 PM

Gay men have relationships like the rest of us. Just because a man or woman is gay, doesn't mean they will hit on just "anyone". Just like most of us wouldn't do that--we like certain types of people and we look for different qualities.....so what they use the same bathroom

wow.. lets see here.. according to that if I take the number of gay guys that have hit on me and multiply that by 10 then I will have the number of girls that want to jump my bones!....

wait.. no... I have about the opposite..

damn... where do I find all the girls that are supposed to be knocking down my door?

(maybe this has something to do with that everyone seems to think i am bi or gay)

The thread should have been locked after that reply. You summed everything up rather well me thinks. :)

A little paranoid ?? but I don't think sterotyping all gays that way is right. Yeah, probably some may do that, but not all.

Agreed. Personally, though, I always look for a stall, not because I'm trying to evade anyone hitting on me while I pee, but because I prefer having a little space instead of having to push up against a colf porcelain bowl with the threat of "deflection," if you know what I mean.

About 10 years ago myself and 4 friends went the Grand Prix in Montreal and stay'd at Molson Hall Dorm at Mcguill University. (During the summer you can rent a university dorm room for 15 bucks a night, and given that it's right down town montreal, it's a great location.)

Anyway, i was taking a shower in the morning, and in walks a girl and starts to get undressed and goes into a shower too.

I thought, holy shit, i am in the wrong shower!!!!

Nope.

Co-ed washrooms!! And that was 10 years ago.

Boioioiinnnng.

Does party boy prefer men or women? It doesn't matter. If the bear is hungry, he eats.

Recoil 07-12-2003 07:52 PM

I go to the University Gym every other day and last week going into the locker room I saw someone ahead of me that I knew back in my first year at University.

So he was Gay, but a very very nice person that I hadn't seen in all these years and would have enjoyed catching up with...HOWEVER, I was coming back from the weight room all sweaty and ripped and he was still going in to change. Anyhoo, something inside me screamed DONT TALK TO HIM RIGHT NOW!!! and I walked around him discreetly (since our locker rooms are HAUGE). I'm sure he wouldnt have been aroused by me, but then he was gay, and going into the mens room he looked a little 'worrisome' as it was... hmm I'm sure nothing would have come off me just talking with him ... still I guess theres that something inside me that didnt quite know what to do...

ehhh
