Your vote?
I live in NY, and I hate my choices for governor, between Cuomo and Paladino, it is same crap versus a rabid racist bulldog. Personally I am leaning towards Cuomo since he is whom I consider the lesser of evils.
Would you vote for someone who is lesser of evils, but therefore supporting him since you did vote for the person. Or do a write in for someone who you like but has zero chance of getting elected.

I almost always have to vote against people. I've even been known to vote for Republicans who were better qualified than the democrat that had no platform, no experience, and no record (OH state auditor)
Since we don't have a proportional system, rank voting, or a party picks the representatives system, it's about all I can do since I have lived in Republican controlled districts my whole life. |

I've gone both ways on this. If the "lesser of two evils" is not too horrible I've voted for that person. But I've more frequently been fed up with both main party candidates and voted for someone else.
My hope in voting for an alternative candidate that really has no chance of winning is that it might send a signal to both main parties that some people don't like either one of them. I'm not sure that message sinks given the relatively low number of other people who might also do that. I'm sort of highly fed up with politics. |

I'll vote for specific candidates. I'll also vote against a candidate, choosing lesser of two evils in that case. If a candidate is on that ballot for multiple parties, I'll consider the specific party I cast my vote for as a way of sending a message which party principles I stand for. I've never used a write-in vote.

I've been voting the lesser of two evils for years... it's still evil or so I've been told.

I vote for the lesser evil when the race is close, otherwise I vote for the third party candidate. There have been a few occasions where the race was close but both main candidates were so bad that I voted third party anyway.

I rarely fill out a ballot where I am not voting for the lesser of two evils at least once. If my offered choices are bad enough, I vote third party or write-in.
