wanted to see about ideas for a job y'all might have had that

1)pays a little better than min. wage

2)leaves you w/ ample time to be on the net or read

thoughts i had were security gard or parking building booth attendant, but one has you going on rounds w/ potential for danger and the other has you cooped up in a tiny little space.

Cashiers at small retail stores make a little better than minimum wage, and you don't have to worry about anything, as long as there's an attendant in there making sure people don't steal, mess the store, etc. Video rental places are great, not blockbuster or big chains, but small places, so you don't have to deal with huge amounts of people (sounds dumb bashing good business) Book stores, video game stores, and comic book stores are other ideas....just desk jobs that actually let you socialize on topics that are business, but not 'office work'

also, man cashier jobs are great in small places where you can sit down.

Working the front desk at a fitness club. Every time I go in, they are reading. Periodically they change the towels in the laundry room or make a protein shake. $7 an hour man. That's superb.

I used to work in a production lab at this computer business in Dayton. Every now and then you'd be cranking out 30-40 computers a day, but usually you either sat on your ass browsing the internet, testing things, or installing computers in the local highschools, where hot chicks roam. 12 bucks an hour.

The best job I ever had was as a lifeguard at a pool. (the beach was too much work) pretty girls all day, sit on your ass, read when nowone is there. Good pay. 3 summers as a kid never had to save anyone.

Application developer! been doing it for years! pays good. get to surf the net all day (research!). read alot. No one has a clue what you do anyway. Just do some magic every once in a while and your boss thinks you are awesome!:D

Over minimum wage.
I sit at a computer for approximately 8 hours a night only 1 of which I am on the phone working. The rest of the time I'm surfing, reading, painting, doing homework or cooking.
If you can adjust your schedule to accomodate this workstyle its awesome.
I work alone (no office gossip or supervisors over my shoulder except the cameras), fewer calls at night (mostly people who can't access the Titty Board or the likes) and same pay (some places pay higher for graveyard shift if noones willing to do it).

i'm a legal assistant at a law firm. it gets kinda busy, but as long as you get your stuff done, it's fair game on whatever you wanna do.

pays over min wage.

i'm not sure how strict other law offices are, but here i can get to work 40 mins late and no one says a word to me. i can take a 2 hour lunch if i feel like it. plus they are flexible with me when i'm taking classes at the uni.

just as long as you do a good job and do your stuff, it's all good. i surf the net a lot. heh. also play some online "muds." or work on my class papers.


sometimes it's a bitch tho and i feel like going postal, but i deal with it cuz i got a pretty good deal here.

I don't know for sure, but working at MattsModels.com looks pretty nice.

The best job I ever had was right before I joined the Navy, I worked at a regional chain video store, Palmer Video. There was a Blockbuster in town, in a much better location than we had, so there weren't that many customers, I worked with some REALLY cool people, and my boss was pretty laid back. Basically sit down, drink soda and watch movies all day. Perks were free rentals, 3 at a time. You had to wear a white shirt with black vest and a tie, but you could pick the tie so it was like a contest to see who could come up with the craziest tie. One of the GIRLS won with a penis tie she found in the city, but obviously had to take it off when a customer came in. This is the same girl who used to go panty-less under her skirt and show us all her pube dye jobs. The pay was crappy (1995 minimum wage), but the hours were good. I don't know, maybe I had a different outlook since I knew it was only a temporary summer job until I left for boot camp, but I had a really good time that summer.

I would recomend working at a university. Most positions are lax (state job). Lots of cool people. And lots, LOTS of fresh young people.

i like mine and i have time to surf, watch tv, listen to the stereo...

and it's more than minimum wage...
