15 yr old boys
 

Tell me about 15 year old boys. I will soon be interviewing one, and am interested in what is on his mind, what he thinks about, what he worries about on a regular daily basis. What is important to him. Does he think about his future at all, or is he most likely thinking present only. Is he aware of his effect on the world yet, or lack of it? At 15, what does a boy hope for?

I understand this is an individual, but in general I want to know what I might expect as far as a not-quite-fit-in skater/maybe poser 15 year old dude might be like.

Good question. When you figure it out, tell a15-year-old girl. I would have loved that kind of information at that age.

My son is 15... and I am never quite sure what he is thinking. As teenagers are wont to do, he's has become a bit of an enigma.

Sex and girls.

Your question is kinda subjective. Everyone is different. Especially 15 year olds. You may get a lot of info out of him, or very little. But there is one constant: sex and girls.

15 year old boys are nearly always constantly erect. If they are virgins they are very ashamed about it.

He'll probably tell you that music is his life.

Is he aware of his effect on the world? Absolutely not!

He probably feels insignificant and he can litter or vandalize or graffiti, shout from the rooftops and nobody is listening. And it's true, nobody is...
Which makes me wonder too, why you are interviewing him. What's this about?

He may tell you that he hates his parents or siblings, because usually kids that age have no concept of the importance of family unity.
They dream of a time when they can buy cigarettes and booze and bang hot chicks.

He worries that he is ugly, he worries that he might be gay, he worries what will happen if his parents die or the house burns down and he looses all his CD's.

He has disturbing perverted thoughts that he will never admit to, and that makes him potential dangerous.

He may think he's a tough guy even if he's little and never been in a fight.
He thinks he's better than a 12 year old, and better than a 30 year old.
He looks up to guys who are 19 or 22, and will respect them for no other reason than that.

He thinks most everybody and everything is stupid.
Hates organized religion.

Sex, weed, music, and skateboards...

That's all that was on my mind from the age of 12-18.

Boobies, food, sleep and repeat.

He's probably really worried about the oil spill and the state of world wide economics.



And sticking his dick in girls.

While i think everyone is spot on saying that sex fills the top 5 spots on his 'what i think about daily' list it probably takes on the very last slot on the 'what I would talk about with a strange woman' list. If you get him to open up about his sexual desires (assuming you want him to) be prepared for it to be taken the wrong way.

Other than sex there is the there is the typical teenage angst, you know - nobody understands me; i'm different than everyone; nobody listens; nobody cares about what I care about. Odds are asking the kid what he thinks is wrong with his life should open a floodgate to more than you care to hear.

Zander: I'm 15. Looking at linoleum makes me want to have sex!

You'll need to use your detective skills. & bury the sexism. That he's a boy shouldn't matter so much as that he's an individual. "not-quite-fit-in...poser" sounds pretty typical.

At 15 I was very worried with seeming like an adult, and really liked it when adults treated me as a peer, and valued my opinions on things.

I was still under the illusion that people "grow up"

I already knew what I wanted to do with my life (be an engineer).

I was worried (more than I am now) about seeming uncool, or liking things that were the same. If someone I thought was cool liked or did something, I'd take that as a pretty strong vote of approval--not so much celebrities, but people in my real life.

And yes, I also was very interested in touching a boob.
