Odd rules

I was in a fast food place the other day with a friend, and when our drinks came, without hesitating I immediately pushed down all of the type options on the lid. Diet, Pepsi, Fanta, other, etc. They all go down before I start drinking.

She looked at me weirdly. I realised that I will do this whenever I get the chance, without thinking. When I was a kid I thought that the flavour was in the lid, and pushing them down released it (I always wanted maximum flavour). I guess it stuck with me.

I also disassemble burgers at restaurants and rearrange the contents inside to my liking. The lettuce, tomato, onions, and whatever else is on top of the meat needs to be as even as possible, and arranged to my liking before I can even think about taking a bite.

I absolutely can NOT sleep with one leg hanging out of the bed, either. I'm afraid the monster hiding under the bed will grab it.

What odd rules do you live by? What things rule your life in such a way that messing with them even a little bit throws the universe off balance?

I cannot have doors closed while I sleep. I obsess about what is on the other side of it to the point that it keeps me awake.

I hate when my sandwich meat or whatnot starts to slide out of bun so I have to rearranged everything before I start and then periodically dissect it and shove things back it while I eat.

I do not like to mix different foods while I'm eating. I have to totally chew and swallow everything before trying a new item/flavor.

I also must pull the covers up on the bed when I'm not in it because I can't stand anything getting in my sheets.

I have other weirdness, but I'll hang on to them for now. Ha.

Isn't this similar to the quirks thread?

Yeah. It is.

Never miss an opportunity to mess with a person with OCD. I know I suffer from it, a bit, and get entertained by others' freaking out.

I cannot let a sheet of bubble-wrap go untouched...

Eh. Quirks aren't "rules". They're quirks. Light hearted, and not necessarily things you live by. Some replies reflected my questions, but the thread wasn't dedicated to it.

But, whatever. Delete if you must.
