Why I won't be at my high school reunion - Page 2 - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I was a Band Geek in HS. I also never got picked on because of my size (6' 210 as a freshman, 6'4" 240 at graduation) so I had that going for me. No girlfriend to speak of. I had a lot of good friends in the band, but very few outside of it. I have kept in touch with a good circle of friends from HS (some from band and the few who were not). I missed my 5 & 10 year, and 20 would be next year, so Id be somewhat interested to see some of the band-o's.

The trouble is, by the time I graduated, there were only like 10 or so seniors actually still playing in the band. The majority of the band peeps would quit before their Jr or Sr years, so actual 1990 graduates would be few. I live real close to my HS again, so it would be easy, but I'm not exactly itching to go. I went with my wife to her 10 year, and it was pretty frikkin lame. So I don't really know what to do. I despise facebook and myspace, so they won't find me that way...

I went to my 10th, will probably go to my 25th (which won't be until 2017).

My observation at my 10th was that all of the "geeks" had PhD's and were happily married with a kid (or one on the way), while the "popular" kids were still single and binge drinking at age 28.
