certified mail

I found a receipt in my mailbox saying an attempt to deliver certified mail was made, and I can pickup the letter etc...

I am kind of nervous, I have never received certified mail, and can not think of why I would get it, and when if ever that it could be for a good reason.

6 more hours before I can go check it out.

:orly:

Is this a question? Are you seeking advice?

I've never received certified mail, and can offer no answers. Just kind of wondering where you're going with this.

Are you getting divorced? That's the last reason I sent a certified letter...

Xazy 05-31-2009 11:24 PM

Maybe I am just over tired and was hoping for a positive spin, but no the certified letter is made for my wife and I, and she has no clue either.

Could be a bill collector. Or a check for a gazillion dollars. Or if anyone's ordered meds online, that's how they arrive - someone has to sign for the 'letter.'

That's all I got for now.

Did you buy anything only from ebay or anything that you would have paid through paypal? Sending sold items certified is one way sellers have to try to avoid scammers.

Other than that, possible reasons include collection services, judicial notifications, any important documents, including documents related to, say, receiving the title to a car you have recently paid off, etc.

They're probably trying to repossess your daughter. ;)

The last time I had one of these, it was a package from my mom. The PO had screwed up a package she sent by sending it certified instead of insured.

I've never received a certified letter that was good news. However, the news wasn't exactly tragic and it didn't catch me off guard either.

Xazy 06-01-2009 06:21 AM

And in the end, it was none of the above, and they are not repressing my daughter!

It was a letter from the home owner association from my property in vegas to the community. Nothing big at all, all that worry for nothing, thankfully.

Why in the world would they drop $ to send it certified?

The_Jazz 06-01-2009 06:39 AM

Glad to hear it, Xazy.

Woods, they wanted to confirm receipt. That could be in their by-laws, and knowing Xazy, he's probably done something like let his cactus grow too big. He's like that.

wooÐs 06-01-2009 06:46 AM

Ohh k k I see... I can understand if he's in violation of something but if it was just a newsletter, that seems silly to me.

Xazy 06-01-2009 06:58 AM

Wish I could say that it was about cactus but I do not think we have one sorry. Annual meeting coming up.
