coin collecting
I'm trying to find out what the grade of GEM means as compared to the number grades.
I have an American eagle that is graded with the gem marking instead of a grade of say MS-69 does anyone know what the difference is? Thank you for all your help. Wayne 21 |
I'm not a coin collector, but a brief Google search revealed multiple entries defining GEM as :"Used in a generic sense to describe a high-quality coin. In a more specific definition, "gem" refers to a coin GRADING AT LEAST A 65 on the SHELDON SCALE."
