This is an emergency. My McNuggets are an emergency!!

Fort Pierce woman calls 911 three times when McNuggets run out

I can understand being upset when you go into your local Mickey D's with a hankering for some all white meat McNuggets...you order them, pay, get your change, and start thinking about dipping those tasty deep fried morsels in some honey mustard, or bbq (if that's your thing), and chowing down all that yummy goooooooodness, washing it down every now and then with your favorite tasty beverage.

Then, to your surprise and dismay, the clerk tells you that not only is this particular McDonald's ALL OUT of McNuggets, which is bad enough, but to add insult to injury, will also NOT REFUND your money!! So there's no option for you to take your business to the McDonald's just down the road, and finally quench that desire that's been building since several minutes before you walked into the place. The best they can do is give you an equivalent of some other food. W.T.F.!?!?

So, what if you're not in the mood for a McDouble, or an Angus Mushroom Burger?? Do you ask to speak to the manager??? Heck no!!! The only logical solution is to involve the authorities. And please, don't call the local police phone #. Oh no. Only 911 will do. And when 911 doesn't want to hear it, do NOT LET IT GO. CALL AGAIN! AND AGAIN IF NEED BE!!! THIS IS AN EMERGENCY DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!

djtestudo 03-03-2009 09:11 PM

Wait? So they refused to refund this person's money despite not having the product this person paid-for?

I would be calling every number in the damn phone book for a media outlet, Better Business Bureau, and Attorney Generals' office demanding action.

That's just wrong on their part. Really scummy.

shakran 03-03-2009 09:56 PM

Agreed dj. . . though really for 2 bucks. . yes it's theft but do we have to get every agency on the planet involved? A quick call to corporate would clear it up.

mikec 03-03-2009 10:21 PM

I'd be pissed if they wouldn't refund my money....but calling 911, especially multiple times, is the sign of a true dumbass...

Well, if THEY are willing to screw you out of two bucks, who knows what else they might be doing.

If the threat of getting the local TV station and the BBB involved isn't enough to get your money back, then they deserve to be exposed at least as dishonest if not doing illegal things.

Corporate would work, as well.

Tying up 911 to resolve a business dispute is fucking stupid. While McD's is obviously (in this case) guilty of poor business practices, this moron is guilty of a worse crime. Hope she gets punished for it with a nice, fat fine to go.

I second that.

Charlatan 03-04-2009 04:59 AM

She should be fined for eating crappy food.

Ding!

Ditto.

Hell at least this lady probably actually thought there was a crime occurring. I've had 9-11 dispatchers tell me people have called them because their spouse wouldn't let them have the TV remote.

But still she's an idiot and deserves the fine she gets.

Cynthetiq 03-04-2009 05:18 AM

reminds me of this one. at least this one we got to hear some audio...

What are we protecting you from, a wrong cheeseburger?

Jackebear 03-04-2009 06:10 AM

Ok, ok, relax, those of you who are bitching at McD's. It's the bitch who called 911 that we should be bitching at...jeez, what a bitch! So, the high school kid or grandpa behind the counter made a mistake by not offering a refund right away. They don't know any better. But can imagine living with a woman like this? What if you went to a nice restaurant with her? I'd be embarrassed to go out with her. If she complains about this, she complains all the time about everything. Anywho, McD's apologized and sent her a refund and said the staff should have refunded her right away but made a mistake.

The real scary thing is on that site, there is a poll to see how many people would call 911 in the same situation and a whopping 24% of 3014 people said that they would!

genuinegirly 03-04-2009 08:30 AM

Oh my. That is a bit frightening. I wonder if that poll is some kind of twisted joke.

I was gonna say...I used to work for McDonalds and I definitely recall giving a couple of customers refunds. It required getting my manager--that's all. But I can tell you that the average person who works at McDonalds barely has two brain cells to rub together. However, there are more than a few intelligent people out there who have worked for the Golden Arches for various reasons. Seems like this customer ran into a worker who falls into the former category, not the latter.

The worker failed to adhere to the maxim that has seen me through many a customer service job: "The customer is ALWAYS right...even when they're wrong."

They've always been guilty of poor business practices for calling whatever it is that they sell, burgers.

Welcome to suburbia, land of sheltered, entitled, stuck-up pricks. I don't know about calling 911, but I've seen plenty of people get angry and scream at cashiers over little things.

World's King 03-04-2009 11:54 AM

I keep seeing the title thinking it has to do something with the Denver Nuggets.

Strange Famous 03-04-2009 12:15 PM

I'll prolly never eat a chicken nugget again.

I challenged a girl at work to an eating contest and ate 100 of them (she managed 92)... I never really fancied them again after that.

As the song goes...Everybody knows...that the world is full of stupid people.....

and as of now, 23%; 1511 out of 6410 votes would call 911.. that is more than just kinda scary - I hope that a lot of that # is just some sarcastic people out there answering yes to be busters... (knowing that the reality is, probably not.......)

Holy shit! That's amazing, and a bit sad. :p

Any person that would call 911 for a simplistic problem such as this would ask me to may their mortgage.
