International Pancake Day!
 

Happy Shrove Tuesday, everyone!
Some people call it Mardi Gras.
Others call it Pancake Tuesday.

However you want to call it, is anyone celebrating tonight?

We're considering eating pancakes for dinner, running to mass with a pan like these folks, then hitting town for some drinks.

Oh! And IHOP (International House of Pancakes) is giving away free food. 7am - 10pm, free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. They're accepting contributions to local children's hospitals. Apparently they do this every year.

I am going to a pancake feed tonight. My church has community dinners every Tuesday night, so tonight in honor of Shrove Tuesday they're serving pancakes, and we will also be having pancake races, wherein the goal is to keep the pancake on the spatula as you race across the church gym. Should be fun!

Unfortunately I will probably not get around to making my annual pancake cake. This involves making several similar-sized eggy pancakes (I use a Swedish pancake recipe), spreading them with Nutella while still warm, and stacking them like a layer cake. Yum.

We're hitting IHOP. It's a tradition for us.

Made pancakes. Ate pancakes. Suitably shriven.
