Sirius or XM??

It's a slow day at work, figured I throw up a poll to make the time pass.
Which do you prefer Sirius, XM, IPOD, neither?

Whats your favorite station/show on XM or Sirius?

I have XM. I have had it for 5 years or so.

I got it when I lived in North Dakota where radio was terrible. Then I sold my vehicle and moved to Charlotte, NC and figured I would not get XM again because surely the radio in a big city would have lots of variety and a good rock station. WRONG. Immediately got XM again.

I love the Virus on 202. It is the Opie and Anthony station. They are hilarious. XM Comedy 150 is awesome on long road trips. Squizz 48 is my rock station of choice.

FYI:

Now with the merger you can get the best of both worlds. Both Sirius and XM offer a "Best Of" package. If you have XM you can get the Howard channels along with NFL and Martha Stewert. If you have Sirius you can get the PGA, NHL, Opra, and the Virus.

I will never have "terrestrial" radio again.

XM.
Never thought I'd pay for radio, but I love it and have not listened to commercial radio since.
The channels I am always listening to are Fred, The Blend, Watercolors and Top Tracks.

I had Sirius for a total of 3 months. Loved it at first until I realized how much it sucked. Theres only 40 songs per channel, and with no commercials to pace them out, they get old REALLLY quick. So I uninstalled it.

I have had XM service for a long time now and love - no experience with Sirius though.
Make the clear channel dominated local stations sound even more appalling than they already do -I never listen to channel 20 which is that kind of drek w/ commercials.

Some of my favourite channels are
4 (the 40's)
8/9 (the 80's 90's) depending on what they are playing
16 - Current country, depending on my current tolerance which is far lower some days
23 (the heart, love songs)
70-73 (the jazz section)
110-113 - Classical
150/151 (The explicit and the family friendly comedy - lots of Bob Newhart, Bill Cosby, etc)
164 (old time radio, I think all they play is radio spirits stock but they still keep a decent selection going)
no concern for the sports sh*t, lex and terry or those things.

Ive had XM for 4 years now and makes my commute tolerable. I actually just upgraded to the "Best of Sirius" package that gets Stern and Football and a few other stations, so far I like Stern over Opie and Anthony. I've never listened to Howard before last week, but so far Howard's show seems more consistently entertaining than O&A.

Main Favs:
150 - Uncensored Comedy
54- Lucy (Alt Rock Hits)
48- Squizz (Modern Rock)
47- Ethel (Alt Rock)
49- Big Tracks (80s Rock)
41- Boneyard (Metal)
77 - Audiovisions (For those really bad days at work)
I like the decades channels as well.

I liked U-POP (29) as well, but they dropped it for the "artist-only" stations, although its still online only.

Ah, sad that you missed the days of 95.7 WXRC. It is now a jockless "Drive" station. I haven't heard 106.5 The End, but I know the programmer, and he's generally been very good.

Big city radio is an interesting dilemma. It seems the bigger the city, the suckier the station. DC is an absolute cookie cutter market. The one top 40, the one rock station, the one country station. Even the public radio is bland.

Hampton Roads, on the other hand, has two decent rock stations, actual local talent, a decent college station, a triple A station.... I guess smaller revenues makes management feel allowed to experiment.

When I'm in HR, it's radio. As I commute north to DC, it's the mp3 player.
