One of the reasons that I never dated any mexican girls when I was growing up in LA was because of the idea of men being macho. The girls loved when their men would show aggression towards someone to defend their affections. I find this a bit interesting tangent where in the subculture itself is fighting among subcultures.

We think that if we would just get along black, white, hispanic, brown, asian, etc. No, this shows that we just like to attack those that are different than us, no matter what they are.

And why shouldn't we? The majority of emo kids I have met are nothing but scene squatters. They claim to be punk rock, because emo music has been labeled punk by the music industry.

Yes, at their core, punk and emo are pretty much the same thing. It's the lifestyle behind each which sets them apart, and it is a drastic difference. Emo music is a sell-out, whiny industry, whereas punk rock is a D.I.Y., take action movement.

To some, this may seem very silly. To me, it's something to stand for. I have dedicated my life to punk. It's a lifestyle I chose years ago, and I hold a lot of loyalty to it.

I'll be damned if some whiny, depressed kid is going to shit on my scene.

(P.S. I mean no offense to anybody here, and this post is not necessarily meant to be a bash on emos. I'm simply shedding some light into the thought process involved on one side of this dispute.)

I never said I agree with beating up the emo kids. In fact I meant to say something about how I don't agree with the violent actions in my original post.

I'm just stating where the angst and resentment punk rockers feel towards emo kids comes from.

In order to understand where I'm coming from, you have to understand that for a lot of us scum fucked, street punks, punk rock is all we have. When somebody comes along and wants to claim our lifestyle and not pay the toll, it's not taken nicely.

Anybody will take action once the problem's right in front of their face.

damn I hate Candy Kids.. much for the same reason that punkofages already stated. Fucking scene squatters who ruin everything with their pretty lights and etardedness.

It's really no different than political factions fighting against each other. People are passionate about their scene and it comes out in different ways. I've seen several Candy's get their ass beat for showing up to the wrong show.. and they deserved it.

This is mainly a Mexico City thing. I've lived in Mexico for going on 7 or 8 months now, Ive never seen anyone like the Emo's or punks. I asked my friend he said it a bunch of morons in DF, I guess it made the paper once here in Merida. I watch the news to help with my Spanish, never seen it on there either.
