Happy Lunar New Year!
I know it's not a big deal for many in the West but this time of year is huge here in the East. It's the year of the Rat. I hope you all have a prosperous and healthy new year! |
Thanks much, sir.
Same to you. |
may you get many hong bao...

It's a huge time for me only because our overseas factories shut down for a couple weeks. And then take forever to start back up again.
|
Kung Hee Fat Choi - as my inlaws would say.
and Sin Nin Fai Loh! |
Chuc Mung Nam Moi is how Vietnamese people say it.
Many good cheers for you. May all the jeers go away. And plenty of drinking and red envelopes all around. |
Oh god, please tell me I can have moon cakes again!!!
The year of the ratbastid! |
You can have the moon cakes some time in August or September.
Now you get to eat banh trung. http://www.noodlepie.com/banh_trung_banh_tet/index.html |

NEWS: Due to the negative image of rats, public decency groups are lobbying the Chinese and Asian communities to refer to this lunar new year as The Year of the Mouse.

Usually when news is prefixed with "NEWS:" and isn't linked, yes it's a joke.
NEWS: I'm pretty sure it was a joke. |
NEWS: I just sharted.
Happy New Year Chinese People! Wait for a bit, and I will get around to each and every one of you to shake your hands. |

Now i have a great reason to be as wasted as i am. Happy lunar new years! |
Happy New Year to all of our Chinese friends ...actually from some of the above posts I think this is also celebrated by other Asian people, so Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to all of you ...some of us westerners (howdy, pardner) got a head start since Jan.1 ...or maybe you got a head start about 5000 years ago?
And don't look in Nonesense at Giant Hamburger's "The Attic Rats Must Die!" thread since it's not about this celebration. |
